摘要: An environmentally sealed closure, such as a terminal for terminated ends of fiber optic cables, includes a housing having a wall defining an interior volume. A floating sealing assembly is provided including a first plate, a seal member and a second plate arranged in a stack within the interior volume. The seal member has an outer sealing edge for contacting the wall of the housing, which may be straight and/or chamfered. Fiber optic cables extend through the sealing assembly so that the terminated ends are within the splice area. The floating sealing assembly is compressed so as to place the outer sealing edge of the seal member in sealing contact with the wall of the housing. When a pressure differential exists between the splice area and the outside of the housing only one of the first or second plates moves along the longitudinal axis to further compress the seal member and increase sealing between the outer sealing edge and the housing wall.

摘要: A apparatus and method are provided to provide a readily rearrangeable interconnection point between two fiber cables. A panel has a series of trays for holding joined fiber pairs. One of the cables is fanned out in equal length fan out tubes and fiber guides are located such that any fan out tube can be routed with its slack managed to any tray in the series of trays. As such, rearrangement of the fan out tubes along the series of trays is readily achieved. The complements of the other cable are routed to the other side of the trays. Inside the trays, the individual fibers are routed to joint holders. The trays are pivotally attached to the panel and hang at a downward angle. The trays are pivotable upward to allow access to lower trays. Opposed fibers are joined and the resulting joint is stored in the trays.

摘要: A fiber optic cable slack storage module is disclosed. The fiber optic cable slack storage module has a base with an interior space. A plate having a plate top and a plate bottom mounts in the interior space. The plate is adapted to receive and support an upper fiber optic cable at the plate top and a lower fiber optic cable at the plate bottom. The upper fiber optic cable arranges in the interior space in a serpentine configuration at the plate top. The lower fiber optic cable arranges in the interior space in a serpentine configuration at the plate bottom. The serpentine configuration allows the upper and lower fiber optic cables to enter and exit the fiber optic cable slack storage module in a way to avoid the probability of severe bending.

摘要: A housing defines an internal cavity and an opening to the internal cavity. An end cap occludes the opening. Fiber optic cables extend through ports in the end cap. A support frame is connected to the end cap and is positioned in the internal cavity. The support frame includes a support member having opposite front and rear ends. The support frame includes upper and lower front extensions connected to the support member. The front extensions extend away from the support member and divergently with respect to one another. The front extensions are connected to the end cap. Flanges protruding from the front extensions receive strain relief for brackets. Container-like devices for containing optical fibers are carried by opposite sides of the support member. An elongate channel for receiving optical fibers and an elongate opening to the channel extend along the back side of a container-like device carried by the support member. A transition plate is mounted to the top of a container-like device carried by the support member. The transition plate includes protrusion that define aperture for receiving ties that hold optical fibers. An adjustment bracket is mounted in movable relation to the support member and is movable toward and away from a container-like device carried by the support member. The support frame further includes upper and lower rear extensions connected to and extending forwardly and divergently from the rear end of the support member.

摘要: Fiber optic cable assemblies and fiber optic terminals supporting port mapping for series connected fiber optic terminals are disclosed. In one embodiment, a fiber optic cable assembly is provided. The fiber optic cable assembly includes a fiber optic cable having a plurality of optical fibers disposed therein between a first end and a second end of the fiber optic cable. The plurality of optical fibers on the first end of the fiber optic cable are provided according to a first mapping. The plurality of optical fibers on the second end of the fiber optic cable are provided according to a second mapping. In this regard, the fiber optic cable assembly provides port mapping of optical fibers to allow multiple fiber optic terminals having the same internal fiber mapping to be connected in series in any order, while providing the same connectivity to each of the terminals in the series.
