摘要:
An electrical connector is disclosed. The connector is made up of an electrical connector comprising: a first (female) housing and a second (male) housing, the first and second housings being capable of mating by being brought together along an axis, such that when the housings are mated the second housing lies at least partially within the first housing. Mounted in the first housing is a first conductor. The first conductor has a fixed end mounted in the housing and a free end and is biased in a first direction substantially transverse to the axis. A second conductor is mounted in the second housing at a position in relation to the axis such that when the first and second housings are mated the first conductor is adjacent the second conductor. A camming means is mounted in the second housing for interacting with the first conductor on mating of the housings. The camming means is made up of a ramp a ramp having a base, a camming surface sloping from a minimum height at the base and a maximum height, and a downward step at the maximum height. The second conductor is mounted adjacent the downward step. When the first and second housings are brought together to mate along the axis, the first conductor comes into contact with the ramp and the camming surface pushes the first conductor against the bias of the first conductor. When the first and second housings are fully mated, the bias of the first conductor causes the free end of the first conductor to move in the first direction and thus into contact with the second conductor.

A sensor assembly for an in vivo physiological pressure measurement has a member with a distal end to ease placement of the catheter sensor assembly in vivo. A passage is preferably in an intermediate part of the member and is open but covered by a pressure responsive sensor sealing the passage. The sensor has a first side away from the intermediate part for exposure to in vivo physiological pressure and a second side in fluid communication with the passage. A pressure connecting means for inhibiting liquid communication located between the physiological pressure and the passage is arranged for selectively connection therebetween so that when connected the pressure on the first and second sides of the sensor can be substantially equalized. A control ex vivo makes the selective connection of the second side of the pressure sensor and the physiological pressure. A method for rezeroing an in vivo pressure sensor has the steps of obtaining a signal from the first side of the sensor at distal end, using a pressure substantially equal to the in vivo pressure and applying that pressure to the second side of the sensor.

A syringe is provided for delivering compositions having a hollow elongated barrel engaged by a plunger with a unique plunger tip. The plunger tip extends from a round and hollow sidewall of the stem of the plunger by bifurcating into an inset branch and a spring lever. The inset branch and the spring lever define a radial tensioning groove. The lower portion of the spring lever is flat while the upper portion of the spring lever flares outward at an angle with respect to the lower portion and then terminates at a rounded distal contact end. As a result, the diameter of the spring lever at the rounded distal contact end is slightly greater than the diameter of the inside of the barrel before the plunger is inserted into the barrel. The spring lever is sufficiently flexible that upon insertion of the plunger into the chamber of the barrel, the radial tensioning groove compresses due to the spring lever flexing toward the inset branch. The spring lever is also sufficiently rigid to enable the rounded distal contact end to be exerted against and to form a seal with the interior of the barrel.
