    摘要: A method and module for tracking transmission of messages being sent from a transmitting module to a receiving module in a communication device is provided. The method includes the step of (a) receiving a message at the receiving module. The method also includes the step of (b) evaluating the received message to determine whether the received message was received by the receiving module in a proper sequence to a previous message, if any, sent by the transmitting module. The method further includes the step of (c) generating an acknowledgement message from the receiving module to the transmitting module, the acknowledgement message including an indicator, a value of the indicator indicating whether the previous message, if any, transmitted from the transmitting module to the receiving module immediately before the received message was received by the receiving module.

The microcapsules can be used in a variety of applications particularly in the field of thermal energy storage. Suitably the microcapsules can be designed to have a particular density and can be used in the transfer fluids where the density of the microcapsules are the same as the carrier fluid.

    摘要: Polymeric particles comprising a polymeric matrix that has been formed from a blend of monomers comprising a first monomer which is an ethylenically unsaturated ionic monomer and a second monomer which is an ethylenically unsaturated hydrophobic monomer which is capable of forming a homopolymer of glass transition temperature in excess of 50° C., wherein secondary particles are distributed throughout the matrix, in which the secondary particles comprise a hydrophobic polymer that has been formed from an ethylenically unsaturated hydrophobic monomer which is capable of forming a homopolymer of glass transition temperature in excess of 50° C. and optionally other monomers, which hydrophobic polymer is different from the polymeric matrix. Also claimed is a process for preparing particles. The particles have improved shatter resistance. Preferably the polymeric particles comprise an active ingredient, especially a colourant. Such particles combine improved shatter resistance with the ability to retain the active ingredient. The particles of the invention can be used in a variety of industrial applications, for instance in the manufacture of inks, paper and cosmetics.

    摘要: Disclosed are methods and related compositions for altering the physical and chemical properties of a substrate used in hydrocarbon exploitation, such as in downhole drilling operations. In a preferred embodiment a method involves formulating a fluid, tailored to the specific drilling conditions, that contains one or more inactivated enzymes. Preferably the enzyme is inactivated by encapsulation in a pH responsive material. After the fluid has been introduced into the well bore, one or more triggering signals, such as a change in pH, is applied to the fluid that will activate or reactivate the inactivated enzyme, preferably by causing it to be released by the encapsulation material. The reactivated enzyme is capable of selectively acting upon a substrate located downhole to bring about the desired change in the chemical or physical properties of the substrate.
