    摘要: Musical intervals are used as codes to communicate preselected commands or inputs to a computer. The system can use human voice sounding notes (DO-RE, etc.) successively to establish the interval and can use electrical circuitry and programs for converting the received notes or tones into pulse trains of the same fundamental period and for storing and calculating the period and interval. When a particular interval is received the apparatus including a digital micro-computer such as the Apple II PLUS.TM. may execute a pre-set recorded subroutine and restore the circuitry for the reception of a second interval.

    摘要: The system is used for transmitting information wherein each possible message unit in a set, (e.g. the alpha-numeric symbol set) is defined by a specific interval (I=f.sub.s /f.sub.RR) and messages are transmitted by conversion to the interval code and for the sending of signals of any two frequencies (f.sub.s and F.sub.R) that are related by the specific intervals. The signals are received by a receiver which computes the interval, matches it with the pre-defined message unit interval and outputs that message unit. A sequence of message units may be sent using a reference frequency signal and a succession of specific signals each related to the reference frequency by the specific interval for that message unit. A computer program can be utilized for automatically encoding or decoding. The system has the advantages that it is relatively free of errors caused by long term frequency shifting, allows transmission at any frequency level, and allows interacting communication between stations wherein the transmitters operate in entirely different frequency domains. In particular, the system is operable to transmit information in the form of interval-coded tones suitable for interpretation by a human listener. Examples of the use of the system include a clock and a voltmeter comprising tone output circuitry.

    摘要: The system is used for tranmsitting information comprising message units each having multi-bit equivalent information content wherein each possible message unit in a set, (e.g. the alpha-numeric sybmol set, or other digital data) is defined by a specific half-cycle duration and messages are transmitted by conversion to half-cycle wavelet signals at the specific half-cycle durations at one message unit per half-cycle wavelet. The half-cycle wavelets are transmitted as a series of alternating half-cycle signals. The half-cycle signals are received by a receiver which measures the half-cycle duration, matches it with the pre-defined half-cycle duration and outputs that message unit. A computer program can be utilized for automatically encoding or decoding. The system has the advantages that it is relatively simple and immune to noise, it demands fewer waveform switching and affords a transmission rate of muti-bits per half-cycle wavelet. The system has advantageous compatible resollution properties. In particular, the system is operable to transmit information by converting several binary bits to a half-cycle wavelet for transmission.
