Abstract:
A device for adjusting the height of the upper mounting or guide fitting of a motor-vehicle safety belt. The device includes a guide rail having arresting openings arranged above one another on both sides, and a slide which is movable in the guide rail, carries the mounting or guide fitting, and has locking elements which are displaceable transversely to the direction of movement of the slide, against spring pressure, from a locking position into an unlocked position via at least one push button. Problems to be overcome, on the one hand, include being able to carry out convenient and safe adjustment by hand and, on the other hand, preventing automatic adjustment as a result of uncontrollable external influences. To make the adjustment device easy to operate, shock-proof, and at the same time also practicable for smaller motor vehicles, there is located on the push button a guide member which has at least one inclined guide into which an extension of the associated locking element engages; the length and path direction of the inclined guide are such that the associated locking element is displaced from one extreme position to the other when the locking element traverses the inclined guide via the extension. The extensions of the locking elements, and the associated inclined guides, are preferably made to engage positively.
Abstract:
A disposable ink reservoir cartridge which is attachable to tubular writing pens of the stylographic type embodying a pressure compensating chamber. The reservoir cartridge is characterized by its axial deformability, such that the free volume of the reservoir may be reduced, as ink flows from the reservoir into the pressure compensating chamber during pen use. The reduction in free volume of the reservoir eliminates available air space and, thereby, avoids the deleterious effects of air pressure changes upon the ink or writing fluid, as the reservoir is depleted.

In a buckle for a safety belt a pivotable locking bar (13-17) is arranged in relation to the push-in tongue (4) in such a way that the ejector force (11) or the belt force exerting a load on the tongue urges the locking bar out of engagement. To prevent this in the closing position, there is a pivoting lever (21) which can be pivoted as a result of actuation of a slide (27) so that the locking bar (13-17) and consequently the push-in tongue (4) are released. According to the invention, this releasing pivoting movement of the locking bar is assisted because an extension piece (30) is provided on the slide (27) and a projection (32) interacting therewith is provided on the locking bar (13-17), and by means of these, when the slide (27) is pressed in, an additional torque for pivoting the locking bar into the opened position is transmitted.

Automatic drafting device of the type employing a tubular writing pen, particularly an adjustable sealing element which is used against the writing tip of the pen when the pen is in a retracted rest mode. The sealing element is laterally disengaged from the pen tip when the pen is an extended writing mode. The sealing element which may be in the form of an elastic spheroid prevents drying out of ink within the capillary channel when the pen is not in use. The blocking assembly is characterized by its ability both to lock the tubular writing pen in its rest position and to lock the sealing element in its laterally outward position so as to avoid interference with the pen during temporary moments of non-writing.

An apparatus for adjusting the height of the upper fixing or guide fitting for the shoulder belt of a safety belt system, particularly in motor vehicles. The apparatus includes a guide rail mounted on part of the vehicle body, and has a guide slot and recesses in which at least one associated locking member engages. This locking member is mounted on a sliding member which carries the fixing or guide fitting and is capable of being locked in or released from the recesses via a handle. The locking member or locking members are symmetrical in construction with regard to their locking function, are mounted on the sliding member, and are operative in the guide rail, and especially are operative on both sides of the central longitudinal line of the guide rail. Moreover, the handle is designed, by a finger pressure construction, to be operated with substantially no force of the hand and arm, using one hand. The belt looping axis at the fixing or guide fitting is located outside, especially below, the zone in which the forces are transmitted along a plane, a line, or point-wise between the locking member or locking members and the guide rail when the apparatus is in the locked position.

An automatic drafting instrument of the type supporting a plurality of stylographic pens above a drafting surface. The instrument includes a reciprocating mechanism for lowering the pens from an upper rest position to a lower drafting position in contact with the drafting surface. The device is characterized by a vertically actuable and pivotable sealing element which engages the writing pen tip in its rest position and is actuable vertically downwardly and pivotably away from the pen as it is lowered to the writing surface.
