摘要： An ink jet printer includes a carriage having a recording head for jetting ultraviolet curable ink and an ultraviolet irradiating device for curing an ink jetted on the recording medium with irradiation of ultraviolet rays such that an image is formed by scanning the carriage; and a maintenance unit for performing maintenance on the recording head at predetermined timing. It also includes a control section for controlling the maintenance unit so as to be converted to a masking state which becomes a head maintenance disabling state when an image is formed, and for controlling the maintenance unit so as to be converted to a non-masking state which becomes a head maintenance enabling state after securing a non-irradiating state in which the ultraviolet rays are not irradiated on the maintenance unit, by a function provided by a unit other than the maintenance unit when the head maintenance is performed.

摘要： An inkjet printer includes: a recording head for jetting ink cured with irradiation of light, onto a recording medium; a light source for irradiating the light toward the ink jetted on the recording medium, the light source being provided so as to face the recording medium; a media error detection mechanism for detecting a media error of the recording medium; a conveyance mechanism for conveying the recording medium in a predetermined direction; a control device for controlling the recording head and the conveyance mechanism, the control device controlling the conveyance mechanism to stop conveying the recording medium, and controlling the recording head to stop jetting the ink, when the media error of the recording medium is detected by the media error detection mechanism; and a protection member capable of being placed between the light source and the recording medium when the media error is detected.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus having: a recording head having a jet opening for jetting an ink which is cured by an irradiation with light, toward a recording medium; a light source for irradiating an ink jetted on the recording medium with light, a maintenance unit for performing a maintenance operation to the recording head; a suction cap member to suction an ink from the jet opening or near the jet opening; a wipe member to wipe an ink in the jet opening or near the jet opening; a control section for controlling the light source to turn on or off, wherein the control section controls the light source to have a light quantity of ½ or less of that at a time of an image recording, in a maintenance operation performed by at least one of the wipe member and the suction cap member.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus comprises: an ink jet type of a recording head in which ink jet openings for jetting a photo curing ink are arranged so as to face a recording medium; a light source which is set so as to be opposite to a face of the recording medium to which ink is jetted, and which irradiates a light for curing the ink after the ink is jetted; a light intensity measuring section for measuring a light intensity of the light irradiated from the light source; a temperature measuring section for measuring an ambient temperature of the light intensity measuring section; and a light source control section for correcting a measured light intensity of the light source in accordance with measurement results from the light intensity measuring section and the temperature measuring section.
