Abstract:
The present invention is a composition comprising a neonicotinoid-based compound having a high degree of insecticide activity, an organic solvent and a surfactant. The present invention is also a method that allows the obtaining of lumber that does not require termite-proofing treatment following production of lumber by injecting this composition into a tree trunk and allowing the chemical to circulate and disperse within the tree trunk.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a neonicotinoid-based compound having a high degree of insecticidal activity, a surfactant, and an organic solvent, which is capable of demonstrating stable effects and in which the types and amounts of surfactant and organic solvent are adjusted so as to prevent chemical damage in numerous types of trees. In addition, the present invention relates to a method for preventing damage to trees by harmful insects of numerous types of trees by injecting this composition into a tree trunk and allowing the chemical to circulate within the tree body.
Abstract:
A method of calculating heat input to an alloying furnace which includes heat input means for use in the production of hot galvanized band steel comprising conveying a band steel of a selected steel variety through the alloying furnace and forming a plated deposition on the band steel in the alloying furnace comprising an alloyed layer of iron and zinc, establishing a formula defining a correlation between heat input and at least the steel variety, the plated deposition and the conveying speed of the band steel, inputting information which relates at least to the steel variety, the plated deposition, and the conveying speed, determining the heat input on the basis of the information inputted, and using the determined heat input to control the heat input means of the alloying furnace thereby controlling the formation of the iron and zinc alloyed layer plated deposition.

Abstract:
An idling stop control apparatus includes a starter motor operation prohibiting device, an idling state determination device, an idling stop function determination device, a switch status determination device, an indicator, and an idling stop function rendering inoperative device. The idling stop function rendering inoperative device switches the idling stop function from an operative state to an inoperative state, when the idling state determination device determines that the internal combustion engine is running, and when the switch status determination device determines that the starter switch is turned on.
Abstract:
A plate temperature and an emissivity are determined at the outlet of an insulated heated zone, and compensations are established which reduce deviations between the respective measured values and the respective target values. A heat input is compensated for in accordance with the greater one of the compensations relating to the plate temperature and the emissivity, respectively. For a U-pattern material, .DELTA.Q is previously added to the heat input for the leading and the trailing end portion of the material. The band steel is irradiated by laser radiation at the outlet of the heating zone in order to detect the degree of alloying on the basis of the intensity of reflected radiation. When an unalloyed surface is detected, a target value of the heat input is modified. ITV camera is used to determine the optical reflectivity of the surface of the band steel at the outlet of a cooling zone in order to detect the degree of alloying. After the process has been stabilized, the heat input is gradually decremented, and when any slight insufficiency in the degree of alloying is detected, a fixed compensation is added to the heat input under that condition, subsequently ceasing to update the heat input.

Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for measuring a heated material in an industrial furnace by the use of a radiation thermometer comprising providing a sliding means at the tip portion of the radiation thermometer, changing a distance between the heated material and the shielding means to determine background radiation rate of the energy reflected or emitted from the atmosphere of the furnace. The background radiation rate is determined by the output energy of the radiation thermometer, which together with an accurate temperature of the heated material and an ambient temperature of the furnace, are used to calculate a temperature error at arbitrary distances. Setting the shielding means of the radiation thermometer in a position at which the temperature error is within a tolerable range, and measuring the heated material with use of the radiation thermometer.
