摘要: A control system is provided for a hydraulic actuating system having a multi-phase stepping motor with a driver therefor which supplies and controls DC current through each of the motor windings such that no current is induced into the control winding from adjacent windings. The stepping motor precisely controls the rotation of an eccentric cam engaging an actuating plunger which actuates a control valve of the hydraulic actuating system. The driver receives control signals from a computer programmed to calculate, from user input command signals indicative of the desired system condition, and generate those control signals which most quickly achieve a rough approximation of the desired system condition. After this rough approximation is attained, the computer generates new control signals for the driver as a function of feedback signals and/or system component characteristics so as to precisely achieve the desired system condition. The operating system for the valve includes a bearing arrangement rotatably connected about the eccentric cam. This cam engages the actuating plunger through a connection linkage which includes the bearing arrangement and a linkage for maintaining contact between the plunger and an outer race of the bearing arrangement. Different embodiments of this operating system are disclosed showing means of applying different loading torques and valve response times.

摘要: A hand-held implement for trimming mounted photographs, posters, and other laminates includes a handle, an edge guide connected to the handle defining a side surface for traveling against the peripheral edge of the substrate, and an upper guide connected to the handle defining a lower surface for traveling against the exposed front surface of the laminate. A blade, mounted on the upper guide, has a cutting edge extending below the lower surface of the upper guide and immediately adjacent the side surface of the first guide. When the side surface is stabilized against the peripheral edge of the substrate and pushed forward, the blade produces an edge perfectly matched to the edge of the laminate and an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

摘要: A tool for trimming the excess backing material on a picture frame having a back surface and a side surface comprises a hand-held body having a forward portion, a rearward portion, and a bottom guide plate configured for sliding engagement with the back surface of the picture frame. An edge guide is configured for sliding engagement against the side surface of the picture frame, and a cutting blade having a tip is spaced apart from the edge guide. The tip of the blade extends slightly below the guide plate to cut through backing material as a user moves the tool along the frame. The cutting blade may be supported in a spring-biased pivoting holder, and an engagement member is included having a first, unpushed position wherein the pivoting holder is restrained with the tip of the blade above the guide plate, and a second, pushed position wherein the pivoting holder is allowed to pivot between from a retraced position and an extended position as a function of the spring biasing.

摘要: A device uses two laser beams to assist in parking a vehicle having a windshield at a desired distance relative to a surface forward of the vehicle, such as the wall of a garage. Independent adjustment means are preferably provided for angling one or both of the first and second beams so as to converge in a localized region of the surface forward of the vehicle when the vehicle is positioned at a desired distance. The preferred embodiment further includes means for mounting the device to a visor within the vehicle, such that the first and second beams pass through the windshield. A momentary contact button on a bottom panel of the enclosure may then be used to activate the laser by squeezing the device against the visor, if so mounted. Within the enclosure there is supported a mirror, prism or other light re-directing element in the path of one of the first and second beams prior to exiting enclosure causing the two beams to converge in a localized region of the wall when the vehicle is parked at a desired distance therefrom. The mirror and beamsplitter are preferably disposed on independently adjustable mounts to assist in fixing the desired distance. As a further option, a dispersive optical element such as a lens may be disposed in the path of one of the first and second beams causing that beam to form a line on the surface forward of the vehicle. Method aspects of the invention are also disclosed.

摘要: A four-way valve is provided, for selectively interconnecting pressure supply and return lines with control pressure lines of a hydraulic device, having means for independently balancing the valve against pressures exerted on the valve by any one or more of the pressure lines and at any operating position of the valve. These pressures exerted on the valve would otherwise restrict or prevent actuation of that valve. This balancing means exposes a minimum surface area of the valve to high pressure forces and isolates the fluid pressure in the pressure lines until interconnection is made by valve actuation.
