    摘要: An environmentally compatible pipe cleaning station having an elongated incoming pipe feeder for receiving a length of pipe thereon to be cleaned, a cleaning station through which the pipe is axially and rotationally advanced onto an elongated pipe receiving system that is in axial alignment with the incoming pipe feeder and which then axially passes the length of pipe back through the cleaning station, an elongated secondary pipe feeder system adjacent the incoming pipe feeder lateral transfer apparatus for moving the cleaned pipe onto an adjacent paralleled secondary pipe feeder, a coating booth in axial alignment with the secondary pipe feeder through which a length of pipe is fed and is spray coated, and an outgoing pipe receiver system in alignment with a secondary pipe feeder for receiving the cleaned and coated pipe which is ready to be removed for storage. The cleaning station and coating booth are each environmentally secured, the cleaning station employing a cyclone separator for collecting materials, such as dirt, rust and so forth, removed from the exterior of the pipe in the cleaning process, and the coating booth having filters therein through which air passes prior to escaping to the environment.

    摘要: An exemplary best mode embodiment and various alternative embodiments are shown for combining horizontal and vertical tillage to solve both weed control and penetration of compaction layer. In one exemplary embodiment a large colter or tine is disposed behind a plow, sweep, concave disc, or other horizontal tillage implement to slice the soil to penetrate any compaction created by the implement. In another exemplary embodiment, a colter with lateral blades penetrates a surface compaction layer, chops crop residue and hoes and levels the soil all in one pass with one implement. We have discovered that a deeper-penetrating tailing ground slicing implement behind a horizontal tillage device results in full root depth for a stronger crop and better yields with normally deep-rooted crops such as corn and the like.

    摘要: A substantially stable, substantially portable open-window gas flow Geiger-Mueller type detector capable of monitoring ionizing radiation having an electrically conductive chamber with one or more fluid inlets and opening to receive radiation. A counting gas is provided to the chamber through the inlet(s). The detector also has at least one insulated anode positioned in the chamber and a radiation permeable cover substantially sealed over the opening. A source of electricity is connected to the chamber and electric pulses generated within the chamber are detected when an ionizing event is caused by ionizing radiation entering the chamber.

    摘要: A machine for spirally wrapping a continuous element, such as a cord or tape, around an annular tire bead. The machine is provided with a mechanism for holding a tire bead and rotating it in a fixed plane and at a predetermined speed, while a device with the element rotates about the rotating bead to wrap a portion of the continuous element around the bead at a speed which is correlated to the rotational speed of the tire bead so that the finished tire bead has a predetermined spiral wrap which can be varied by changing the relative rotational speeds of the tire bead and element about the tire bead. The machine is supplied with a braking mechanism which is designed to cushion the stop of the bead wrapping mechanism, rather than bringing it to an abrupt halt, and to bring the bead wrapping mechanism always to a halt at a desired position for beginning the wrapping of another bead. A knife is furnished for cutting the continuous element after the bead wrapping operation is completed and the machine is stopped. One of the cut ends of the continuous element is held adjacent the knife, thereby eliminating the need for an operator to reach into the machine to remove the loose end for wrapping around a newly positioned bead in the machine.

    摘要: This invention is a yarn tension device for use on textile creels and similar adaptations. A plurality of individual tension devices are formed from an aluminum alloy and are secured to a bar which in turn is mounted on the creel. Not only is the warping of brackets holding the tension devices eliminated, but also static electricity is bled off thus eliminating the precipitator effect which causes a build-up of wax and lint through the magnetic attraction of static electrical charges. Further a means is provided for preventing the tension balls or bearings from being removed from the devices during the threading of yarn therethrough.
