摘要： A thermally conductive sealing system for the cylinder head joint of an internal combustion engine is disclosed comprising a spacer plate clamped in direct contact between the cylinder head and the cylinder block and a plurality of discrete fluid gaskets disposed across the spacer plate and clamped between the cylinder head and cylinder block. The flange of a cylinder liner is received in a bore of the spacer plate and a combustion gas seal or "fire ring" is clamped in the bore between the cylinder head and the cylinder liner flange. The combustion gas seal includes a malleable sealing ring for sealing between the cylinder head and the cylinder liner and a hardened backing ring for supporting the sealing ring. The plurality of discrete fluid gaskets includes a removable lifter compartment gasket including sealing elements attached across a substrate and a plurality of coolant ferrules for sealing across coolant ports and around cylinder head bolts.
