摘要: Online transaction processing over a communication network involves receiving a transaction input comprising an authorization request message for a transaction conducted over a communication network between a consumer and a merchant using a portable consumer device having a memory, wherein the authorization request message contains data comprising a transaction total amount for the transaction and additional information not stored in the memory of the portable consumer device and related to the transaction. Issuer authorization processing is performed in response to the authorization request message data, and a decision output is produced in response to the transaction input and the issuer authorization processing. Thus, a decision output is produced in an efficient manner using additional information for the issuer authorization processing, and the additional information reduces the likelihood of declining a transaction that should otherwise be authorized.

摘要: A method for authenticating a consumer for a portable consumer device is disclosed. One embodiment of the invention includes receiving a transaction message relating to a request by a consumer to conduct a transaction using a portable consumer device, wherein the consumer was previously enrolled in an authentication program and the consumer was previously authenticated, analyzing the transaction message to determine if a re-authentication event has taken place, causing a re-authentication message to be sent to the consumer before initiating an authorization request message to the issuer if the re-authentication event has taken place, and initiating the authorization request message to the issuer without sending the re-authentication message to the consumer if the re-authentication event has not taken place.

The relationship payment system allows a primary user to designate a portion of a credit limit of a primary user's account to grant to a secondary user's account. Transactions are authorized against secondary user's account, and then ultimately clearing and settlement for the transactions is conducted against the primary user's account.

Said Pods may be accessed remotely or via Service Centers. A key benefit is the ability for multiple providers to enable secure services through a single Pod. Users once authenticated or logged into a said Pod, can access a plurality of service protocols. Such service protocols may be accessed using self-service tools, or through real-time assisted service. The Service System includes both user- and agent computer systems through which user and agent interactions are enabled. The agent computer system includes a number of service tools available for supporting agent-assistance servicing. The Service System further tracks and compiles session information and data.
