Abstract:
A lead connection assembly for an implantable device forming a subcutaneous electrical and mechanical connection with an electrical lead without tools employs connectors in the form of a resilient conductive spring-retainers each in the shape of a generally cylindrical helix disposed in a bore for receiving the lead. Each spring retaining connector is electrically connected to the internal circuitry of the implantable device using a feedthrough connection and the helix of the retaining connector means is adapted to receive a terminal poriton of the lead. The helix operates in a manner such that when the lead is rotated a partial revolution within the helix in a direction, which would tend to unwind the helix, the lead is simultaneously freed to move axially in and out of the helix coil and when the lead is rotated a partial revolution within the helix in a direction which tends to tighten the helix winding, the coil permanently seizes the lead such that it cannot be withdrawn without first being rotated in the unwinding direction.
Abstract:
An improved body implantable electrical stimulator assembly of the type having interconnected electrical components housed within a preformed enclosure. A cup is provided in which the components may be finally assembled, the cup being configured to fit within the enclosure. Preferably, the enclosure is formed of a plurality of members at least one of which has a main wall and a side wall joined at a radius. The cup is similarly formed of a main wall and a side wall, the main wall being generally coextensive with at least a major portion of the enclosure member main wall. The cup may engage the enclosure in a manner such that its movement within the enclosure is limited. Movement of the components within the cup may also be restrained. A cover for the cup may also be provided.
Abstract:
Apparatus is disclosed for spraying liquids, preferably paint, directly from a paint container mounted on the apparatus, wherein an electric drive motor, pump assembly, and paint container shelf are attached to a wheeled frame assembly for portable movement without disconnecting the paint container from the pump assembly, and wherein electrostatic voltage discharges are prevented by means of a common electrical interconnection of all electrostatic voltage-developing components.
Abstract:
A low-cost, disposable electrode for body surface stimulating applications having a backing layer formed from a sheet of foamed plastic material which is generally divided into two halves by a transversely extending fold line. The first half has an opening extending through the thickness dimension thereof and on a surface of the second half is adhesively affixed a flexible, conductive sheet which is so positioned that when the backing layer is folded along the fold line, the flexible conductive sheet fits through the opening formed on the first half. Completing the assembly is a layer of conductive adhesive which is affixed to the undersurface of the foamed plastic layer so as to abut the surface of the flexible conductive sheet exposed through the opening and an electrical lead connected to the flexible conductive sheet.

Abstract:
A body implantable stimulator having a signal generator and lead electrically and mechanically interconnected by a preformed connector. The connector carries terminals to establish electrical communication between the signal generator and the lead, passageways being provided in the connector body to accept and guide the signal generator output connections and lead into contact with the terminals. In a preferred embodiment, the terminals are provided with intersecting bores such that an output connection and lead contact each other within a terminal. The preformed connector may be mechanically fastened to the signal generator.
