摘要: The accelerator command signal from an accelerator pedal sensor of an electric vehicle is mapped to a generally lower value in view of a reduced state of charge of the traction battery of the vehicle. The mapping requires the driver of the vehicle to depress the accelerator pedal farther to provide an equivalent accelerator command to the controller which controls the traction motor of the vehicle. The driver is thus given intuitive indication that the powertrain of his vehicle has reduced propulsive capability.

摘要: Electric motor controllers that dynamically adjust a motor resistance parameter are described. In order to adjust the motor resistance parameter, power is applied the electric motor while the controlled vehicle is stopped and its brake is set so that the vehicle remains stopped while a measurement is taken that can be used to determine motor resistance. A new motor resistance value is then generated based at least in part upon the measurement(s) and the motor resistance parameter is set to the new motor resistance value. The new motor resistance parameter may then be used in the control of the electric motor. In some embodiments, the measurements are taken after the controller receives a brake release request but before actually releasing the brake. The described arrangement can be used in a wide variety of motor controllers and is especially well suited for use in low cost controllers that control motors that are susceptible to wide variations in their resistance such as brushed permanent magnet DC motors.

摘要: Provided is a method and apparatus for simulating the behavior and operation of a three-phase induction machine. The present invention provides for a digital simulating device for simulating the behavior and operation of three-phase induction machines in accordance with selected parameters. There is further provided a computer modeling method for behavioral and operational analysis which utilizes blocks and super-blocks connected with signals as in physical systems. The modeling method incorporates an algebraicly simplified set of equations in stationary 2-axes reference frame.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for adjusting at least one of the motors in an electrically driven vehicle having a first motor for controlling a first wheel and a second motor for controlling a second wheel are disclosed. The method is performed in response to input from a user control that enables an operator of the vehicle to steer the vehicle. It is determined from one or more conditions whether the operator of the vehicle is attempting to drive the vehicle straight on approximately level ground. When it is determined from the one or more conditions that the operator of the vehicle is attempting to drive the vehicle approximately straight on approximately level ground, it is then determined whether to adjust one of the motors based upon the input from the operator of the vehicle to the user control. When it is determined that adjustment is appropriate, the appropriate motor is adjusted.

摘要: An invention is disclosed which promotes even wear within a multiple-motor drivetrain. In one embodiment of the invention, a vehicle drivetrain includes two motors. The total torque to be provided by the motors is partitioned between the motors such that the total efficiency of the drivetrain is maximum. Such partitioning usually involves providing more torque from one motor than from the other. The motor selected to provide the greater torque does so until a predetermined number of differential torque-hours are accumulated between the two motors. The other motor is then selected to provide the greater torque, again until a predetermined number of differential torque-hours are accumulated. Excessive wear of one portion of the driveline is thus prevented.
