摘要: A waterborne latex polymer composition having latex particles comprising (1) about 25 to about 75 weight percent of a first monomer, wherein the first monomer is at least one free-radically polymerizable long chain alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer; (2) about 75 to about 25 wt % of a second monomer, wherein the second monomer is a short alkyl chain (meth)acrylate monomer, wherein the alkyl group contains less than about 12 carbon atoms and the second monomer may be a mixture comprising; i) none, one or more (meth)acrylic acid monomers; ii) none, one or more vinyl nitrile monomers; and iii) none, one or more (meth)acrylic ester monomers, with the provisio that the second monomer mixture comprises at least one of (meth)acrylic acid monomer, vinyl nitrile monomer, and (meth)acrylic ester monomer and a method of making the latex particles.

摘要: An insulated article having a first insulation region comprising a first polymeric material and first hollow ceramic microspheres and a second insulation region comprising a second polymeric material and second hollow ceramic microspheres. The first insulation region has a thermal conductivity that is no greater than the thermal conductivity of the first polymeric material and a volumetric heat capacity in a range of 60% to 90% of the volumetric heat capacity of the first polymeric material. The second insulation region has a thermal conductivity that is no greater than 90% of the thermal conductivity of the second polymeric material and a volumetric heat capacity that is less than 60% of the volumetric heat capacity of the second polymeric material. A method for making a composition for insulating an article is also described.

摘要: An insulated article having a first insulation region comprising a first polymeric material and first hollow ceramic microspheres and a second insulation region comprising a second polymeric material and second hollow ceramic microspheres. 摘要: Disclosed is a composite pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising from about 95 to about 5 parts by weight of an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive; from about 5 to about 95 parts by weight of an at least partially soluble (in a solvent) polymer, and a compatibilizer present in the composite pressure-sensitive adhesive in an amount greater than 0 to about 10 parts by weight of the composite pressure-sensitive adhesive. The polymer is selected from the group consisting of a butadiene-containing polymer, an isoprene-containing polymer, a saturated olefin-containing polymer, and a styrene-containing polymer. The compatibilizer in the adhesive has a structure selected from the group consisting of (1) an acrylic adhesive-compatible segment and a polymer-compatible segment wherein at least a portion of the compatibilizer is present throughout either the acrylic adhesive, the polymer, or both, and (2) an acrylic adhesive-reactive segment and a polymer-compatible segment wherein at least a portion of the compatibilizer is present throughout the polymer.
