摘要: A flashing piece, having an outer portion, defining an opening and made of a first polymeric material and an inner portion, joined to the outer portion about the opening and extending across and covering the opening. Also, the inner portion is made of a second polymeric material that is more flexible and elastic than the outer material and is in most places of a first thickness and further defines indented rings wherein the second polymeric material is sufficiently thinner than the first thickness to enable an installer to begin a tear by broaching an indented ring, thereby creating a flap of the second polymeric material, and then to propagate the tear about the indented ring by pulling on the resultant flap of the second polymeric material.

摘要: A corner guard system and method for waterproofing or flashing a corner intersection in a window, door or other opening, corner joint or other intersection structure. The corner guard in includes a base and an end piece. The base has first and second members joined along a ridge edge at an angle to substantially conform to the shape of the corner intersection. The end piece is joined along an end piece edge with the base at an angle to substantially conform to the shape of the opening ledge and adjacent opening surface. The present invention provides an economical, simple to install and easy to use corner guard as an alternative to the traditional flashing membrane while demonstrating significant advantages in minimizing drafts and water leaks in residential and commercial construction.

Additionally, a bolt has a longitudinal segment that is rotatably engaged to a first one of the base portion and the extension, and has a threaded portion being in threaded engagement to a second one of the base portion and the extension, so that rotation of the threaded element causes the extension to move in telescoping manner relative to the cavity.
