    摘要： An apparatus is provided for applying surgical clips which includes provisions for applying a partially closed clip to ducts or shunts during a surgical procedure such as cholecystectomy procedures. The apparatus includes means for effecting a partial closing stroke of the handle mechanism to correspond to a partial closure of the jaw members, and permits a partial opening stroke to release the partially closed clip in the jaw mechanism. Other features of the invention include means for preventing over advancement of a clip to the jaw mechanism, means for cradling the clip as it is advanced from the clip supply to the jaw mechanism, means for preventing splaying of the jaws in the event of a clip-over-clip application, and a novel rotation collar. The instrument of the present invention provides the surgeon with visual, audible, and tactile indication of the positioning of the jaw members to effect the application of a partially closed clip.

    摘要： The present invention resides in a shaving implement having a handle; a razor cartridge; a self-leveling mechanism operably coupled to the razor cartridge and the shaving aid body; and a pivoting mechanism operably coupled to the shaving aid body and the handle to permit pivotal movement of the razor cartridge and the shaving aid body together relative to the handle. The shaving aid body has a top surface, and at least a portion of the shaving aid body is adjacent the razor cartridge. The self-leveling mechanism permits the top surface of the shaving aid body to remain coplanar with a shave plane while shaving.

    摘要： A grooming tool is provided that includes a safety razor assembly adjoined to a hair trimmer assembly. Both assemblies include a housing. The housings may be separable or may be integrally formed. The trimmer assembly includes a motor operably connected to a moving toothed blade. A second toothed blade is removably mounted to the housing of the trimmer. One end of the leaf spring is disposed in a suitably sized recess of the trimmer housing and the opposed second end bears against a driver of the moving blade to maintain sliding contact between the toothed portions of the two blades during operation. When a user removes the second toothed blade, the moving blade may be separately removed while the leaf spring is retained in its recess. Both housings have a width less than 25 mm and the grooming tool is ergonomically familiar to a typical safety razor user.

    摘要： A shaving implement is provided that includes a replacement cartridge mounted to a handle. The replacement cartridge includes a shaving aid body and a razor cartridge. The shaving aid body can be erodible and the handle is provided with a self-leveling mechanism to relatively maintain a generally coplanar relation between the top surface of the shaving aid body and the shave plane of the razor cartridge during a normal shaving operation as the shaving aid body erodes during use. The shaving implement is provided with limited pivotal motion of the replacement cartridge relative to the handle about three generally mutually perpendicular axes and combinations of the three axes. Biasing force is provided to urge the replacement cartridge to a neutral position relative to the three axes.

    摘要： A surgical clip applier includes a housing, a pair of handles pivotably connected to opposite sides of the housing, a channel assembly which is anchored to the housing and a jaw assembly which is anchored to the channel assembly. The jaws are opened and closed by a cam plate which is slidably positioned in the channel assembly and is provided with cam slots at its distal end to engage drive rivets positioned on the jaw members. A pusher bar assembly is also provided to feed clips from a series of clips to the jaw mechanism, and the instrument operates such that all moving components move in the same direction during the closing stroke of the handle, and then move in the same direction opposite to the closing direction when the handles are in the opening stroke. A novel lockout mechanism is also provided to render the instrument inoperable after all the clips have been utilized from the instrument.
