摘要: A cutting tool and an attachment mechanism configured to removably securely couple the cutting tool and a cutting instrument together. The cutting tool comprises a tang end portion, a tip end portion, and a cutting edge on the tip end portion. The attachment mechanism comprises a first and second clamping members with first and second engagement surfaces, respectively. The second clamping member further comprises a pair of axially-spaced projections extending and a pair of laterally-spaced projections extending past the second engagement surface. The attachment mechanism further comprises an adjustment mechanism configured to selectively adjust the distance between the first and second engagement surfaces. The tang end portion comprises an axially extending coupling slot and a pair of elastically-deformable securement members at lateral sides that extend laterally outward as they extend axially from the tang end portion toward the tip end portion.

摘要: A system for treating tissue includes a clip assembly including a pair of clip arms. Proximal ends of the clip arms are slidably received within a channel of a capsule to be moved between a tissue receiving configuration and a tissue clipping configuration. The system also includes a catheter assembly including a control member extending therethrough. The control member includes a distal end connected to the clip arms to move the clip assembly between the receiving and clipping configurations. The system further includes a coupler releasably coupled to a proximal end of the capsule and configured to be coupled to the distal end of the catheter assembly. The coupler fractures when a proximal force exerted on the coupler via the control member exceeds a first predetermined threshold value to disengage the capsule and deploy the clip assembly.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for occluding hollow body structures, such as blood vessels, and for attaching tissue layers together by providing implantable elements on opposite sides of the structure or tissue layers and drawing the implants together to occlude the body structure and/or bring the tissue layers together. The implants are deliverable in a low-profile configuration and self-expand to an enlarged configuration. The implantable elements are delivered by transfixing the body structure, then releasing the implants on opposite sides of the anatomical structure to urge the layers together to effect an occlusion or attachment. The implants are configured to apply oppositely directed forces to opposite surfaces of the tissue layers at alternate, circumferentially spaced locations and may constrain the tissue in a serpentine pattern or in a direct clamping pattern. The implants grip the tissue in a manner that defines a pressure zone about the transfixion aperture that prevents leakage from the aperture. The invention can be used to fasten tissue to non-tissue.

摘要: A device for treating tissue includes a capsule defining a channel extending therethrough and clip arms. Each of the arms includes a proximal part releasably coupled to a distal part, a proximal portion of the distal part configured to be received within the channel of the capsule so that the arms move proximally and distally relative to the capsule between a tissue receiving configuration, in which distal ends of the arms are separated from one another, and a tissue clipping configuration, in which distal ends of the arms are moved toward one another. The proximal portion of each of the arms is configured to release from the corresponding distal part to lock the distal part of each of the arms over a portion of target tissue to be clipped while the proximal parts of the arms are removed from the body.

摘要: Disclosed suture clips include a generally disk-shaped body having an annular outer body, first and second tabs extending radially inwardly from opposing sides of the annular outer body, first and second slots passing through a thickness of the suture clip and separating the annular outer body from lateral sides of the first and second tabs, and the first and second slots include stepped portions configured to align the suture clip on a rail of a clip deployment device. The stepped slots create bracketing surfaces that interface with the rail on which the clips are mounted, such that the bracketing surfaces prevent or limit the freedom of the clips from tilting or shifting relative to the rail. The disclosed clips can also include rounded edges on engagement surfaces of the tabs to minimize particulate formation.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to repair devices configured for use in fixing or approximating tissues, such as cardiac valve tissues and particularly the leaflets of a regurgitant mitral valve. The repair device includes a shaft, a pair of proximal elements pivotally coupled to the shaft and extending from the shaft, and a pair of distal elements pivotally coupled to the shaft and extending from the shaft. The proximal and distal elements are configured so that targeted tissue can be grasped therebetween. The distal elements and/or the proximal elements include adjustable arms that can be extended and retracted to adjust the length of the gripping elements to provide more effective grasping of targeted tissues.
