Abstract:
A machine for producing a material web is provided having at least one smooth roll at least partially wrapped by the material web. The machine includes an air blowing device arranged for ventilating the material web with at least one discharge stream, wherein the at least one discharge stream is directed into a wedge-shaped opening formed between the at least one at least one roll and the material web leaving the roll.
Abstract:
Process and apparatus for drying a material web. The process includes guiding the material web to at least one heated area, maintaining the material web in uninterrupted contact with the at least one heated area at least until the material web achieves a firmness sufficient for detaching the material web from the heated area. The apparatus includes at least one heated area arranged to receive the material web. The at least one heated area includes a removal zone arranged for the removal of the material web from the at least one heated area. The at least one heated area has a length is sufficient to achieve a sufficient firmness of the material web to be removed in the removal zone.
Abstract:
Dryer section and process for drying a fibrous web. Dryer section includes a plurality of dryer groups with at least one heated dryer cylinder and at least one belt to press the fibrous web against a surface of the at least one heated dryer cylinder. Transfer elements, i.e., a delivery transfer element and an accepting transfer element, are arranged to form at least one transfer point. Accepting transfer element has a greater speed than the delivering transfer element, and the transfer elements are arranged not to press against each other at the transfer point and to have a distance from one another of less than about 70 mm. Process includes guiding fibrous web to a first dryer group, pressing, with the at least one belt, fibrous web against surfaces of the at least one heated dryer cylinders of each dryer group, and transferring, without pressing, fibrous web between transfer elements.
Abstract:
Described is a machine for manufacturing a continuous web, in particular a paper or cardboard web, the machine having a number of rolls that may include press rolls, drying cylinders, suction rolls, or the like. At least one transport belt is guided with the web around the rolls and is characterized by the fact that a metallic screen is guided between the web and the respective roll surface. The metallic screen may be formed of metal, formed as a metallized drying screen, or formed from metal and synthetic threads.
Abstract:
Device for treating a fibrous pulp web that includes at least one support face, which is one of moving and stationary. The fibrous pulp web may be guided over the at least one support face. The device also includes at least one sealing device positioned on a side of the fibrous pulp web facing away from the at least one support face to strip at least a majority of a bordering air layer that entrained by the fibrous pulp web. The at least one sealing device may include a sealing disc that is one of substantially straight and at least partially curved, and that is at least one of elastically formed and resiliently mounted.
Abstract:
Process for cleaning a transport belt of a machine for manufacturing and/or processing a material web with at least one cleaning device. The process includes detecting the contamination of the transport belt with at least one sensor, generating a state matrix which contains the location coordinates of the detected contamination, and one of controlling and regulating the at least one cleaning device for cleaning over at least a width of the transport belt with a varying desired intensity of cleaning in accordance with the generated state matrix.
Abstract:
A web drying apparatus, e.g., for a paper web, includes several heatable drying cylinders arranged in at least one row with at least one respective endless loop drying wire and preferably arranged in two rows of cylinders with two respective wires. A wire guide roll is between and offset from two of the adjacent cylinders in the one row. The one endless loop dryer wire carries the web thereon on a first part of the web loop path from the first cylinder to the wire guide roll. There the web separates from the wire and travels to a second cylinder in the second row. The wire wraps around the wire guide roll and returns on a second part of the web loop path to the next cylinder in the first row, without supporting a web. On the path between the first and third cylinders and around the wire guide roll, the wire defines a loop. An air guide box and a blower are arranged within the loop. The air guide box produces a vacuum at the first part of the wire loop path for drawing the web against the wire. An air channel extends between the air guide box and the blower. At least one drive nozzle outlets into the air channel. The air channel draws air out of the first part of the loop path to create the vacuum there. The blower directs a stream of air through the wire, at the second part of the wire loop path, and then to a pocket outside the second loop part. The drive nozzle and the blower are supplied by independently controlled flows of blown air.
Abstract:
A drying section for a paper making machine. The drying section includes a plurality of single-tier dryer groups, optionally followed by one or more double-tier groups. To control curl in the final paper product, a moistening device extending over the width of the drying section is provided near the end of the single-tier dryer groups. The moistening device can be divided into various zones to control the profile of the paper. Alternatively, or in addition to the moistening device, a contact-less dryer such as a infrared dryer can be provided after the dryer section, upstream of a calendar section of the paper making machine. The moistening device can be provided to moisten the bottom or, optionally, the top side of the paper web. Where a double-tier dryer group is provided, to control curl the upper drying cylinders and the lower cylinders can be provided with different steam pressures to control curl. Alternatively, each of the cylinders can be individually controlled.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the application of steam onto a paper web has a steam blower box with numerous zone chambers arranged side by side over the web width. The steam blower box is displaceable so that the spacing between it and the web path is adjustable. A steam supply line extends from each zone chamber in the longitudinal direction through the interior of the steam blower box, and from there outward to a support plate. There the clearance between adjacent steam lines is substantially greater than in the interior of the steam blower box. A steam control valve, that is connected via a flexible line to the support plate, is provided for each zone chamber laterally outside the paper-making machine.
Abstract:
In a dryer section comprised of several drying groups, and particularly an alternating single tier dryer section, one of the bottom felted drying groups is arranged with respect to the paper machine floor so at least the rotating shafts at the axis of the drying cylinders of the one drying group are below the paper machine floor. The guide rolls of the bottom felted drying group and of an adjacent top felted drying group may be in one horizontal shaft plane above the paper machine floor. An intermediate floor is provided beneath the main machine floor and the bottom of the basement beneath the one drying group. Easier access to the drying cylinders and elements of both top felted and bottom felted drying groups is obtained.
