    摘要: This invention relates to a method of improving runnability of a drying section (40) of a paper or board machine or similar. A paper web is contacted with surfaces of a number of successive drying cylinders (41) at a machine speed of at least 550 m/min. One or more drying cylinder surfaces in the beginning of the drying section are heated to a temperature of at least 120° C. The invention also relates to a use of heated rotating drying cylinders in a paper machine or similar, a drying section of a paper machine and a method of selecting a drying strategy.

    摘要: The invention concerns an equipment and a method in the transfer of a paper/board web in a paper or board machine. In an embodiment of the invention, the dryer section comprises at least one group of drying cylinders in which, instead of a conventional wire draw, a transfer belt (H100) is employed, to which the web (W) is affixed by effect of adhesion and which transfer belt is passed over drying cylinders (K1, K2, . . . ) and reversing rolls (E1, E2, . . . ) and further in said group (RI) of drying cylinders in the dryer section. The invention also concerns a method in the transfer of the web (W) in the dryer section (K) of a paper/board machine. In an embodiment of the invention, the web (W) is passed, while meandering in loop shape and while adhering to the face of the transfer belt (H100), from a drying cylinder (K1) in the group (RI) of drying cylinders in the dryer section (K) onto a reversing roll (E1) and further from the reversing roll onto the next drying cylinder (K2) and further in the group (RI) of drying cylinders.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for making a high bulk, coated paper of a unique structure with the coating forming a lower portion of the total caliper and the paper base forming a higher portion of the total caliper than conventionally made coated paper of the same weight. The process includes the step of using furnish with a high percentage of mechanical pulp, applying that furnish to papermachine wires, preferably with a gap former, coating the paper with a coating containing a plastic pigment, preferably of 4 or more parts per 100 parts of coating pigment, and calendering the coated paper at a nip loading less than conventional supercalendering nip loading. Preferably, the finished coated paper will have a 75null TAPPI gloss of 40 or above. The method and apparatus can be used to make lightweight or other weights of coated paper.

    摘要: A process and device for producing a pulp web utilizes several independently driven aggregates (i.e., discrete groups) to attain a median web dry content of, e.g., 60%. The number of driven aggregates may depend upon an initial wet strength of the wet pulp web. The relationship is such that when the initial wet strength is relatively high, the number of drier groups is small and when the initial wet strength is relatively low, the number of drier groups is large. However, each drier group includes only a few drier cylinders. The first drier group may include either one or two cylinders, and each subsequent drier group may include at least one drier cylinder more than the adjacent upstream drier group.

    摘要: A machine and method for producing a material web, e.g., a paper or cardboard web. The machine includes a dryer group having a plurality of dryer cylinders and web guide rolls. A dryer (or guide) belt may guide the material web around the dryer cylinders and web guide rolls in a meandering or winding path. The dryer group may include a cooling device that cools the dryer belt by exerting an air current on the dryer belt after separation from the material web. The method may include drying the material web in a region of the dryer group in which the material web is held and guided between the dryer belt and each drying cylinder, and substantially preventing drying of the material web in a region of the dryer group in which the material web is transferred from one drying cylinder onto a subsequent one.
