    摘要: A clothing for supporting a wet paper web for dewatering is provided, comprising a dewatering fabric extending in a machine direction and formed only from a woven material to have a single, substantially consistent, permeability. A pair of laterally-spaced strip portions extend along the dewatering fabric in the machine direction, with each being substantially and consistently impermeable to air and forming a substantially and consistently smooth non-water-retaining surface. The strip portions define a permeable web-carrying portion of the dewatering fabric therebetween, wherein the paper web carried thereby extends over the entire width thereof. The permeable web-carrying portion allows air to flow therethrough, exclusively of the impermeable strip portions, such that the wet paper web carried only by the permeable web-carrying portion is dewatered. The width of the permeable web-carrying portion thereby defines the width of the wet paper web dried thereon. Associated systems and methods are also provided.

    摘要: A transfer apparatus is disclosed for transferring a light weight web from a dewatering section to a Yankee dryer. The transfer apparatus includes a looped transfer blanket which is disposed between the dewatering section and the Yankee dryer for supporting and transporting the web from the dewatering section towards the Yankee dryer. The dewatering section includes a press which defines a press nip for the passage therethrough of the web. The press nip assists in dewatering the web and guides the web. A press felt extends through the press nip and the transfer blanket also extends through the press nip. A roll is disposed downstream relative to the press nip for transferring the web from the transfer blanket and for guiding the web towards the Yankee dryer.

    摘要: A method and device for dewatering a paper or board web and passing the web as a closed draw from a lower wire of a web forming section, in which the web is formed between the lower wire and an upper wire, to the press section and through one or more dewatering press nips in the press section. The web is separated from the upper wire on a first suction zone or block of the suction roll, after which the web is affixed to the lower wire over a second suction zone or block of the suction roll. The web is then affixed, in a pre-press and transfer nip formed by the suction roll and a smooth-faced roll, onto the outer face of a substantially non-watering-receiving transfer belt, the web being passed on support of this belt into the first press nip. In the press nip, water is pressed out of the web into a water-receiving press felt.

    摘要: A method for improving the rush transfer of a web, such as a tissue web, is disclosed. The method provides for greater angles of convergence and divergence of the carrier fabric and the transfer fabric at the point of transfer by deflecting the carrier fabric toward the transfer fabric using a deflection element, such as a roll, positioned opposite the vacuum transfer head. The greater angles of convergence and divergence minimize the potential for undesirable macrofolds being formed in the web during transfer.

    摘要: A papermaking vacuum apparatus having a web-facing surface adapted to support a papermaking belt and comprising a head, a body and at least one vacuum slot disposed in the head and defining an aperture on the web-facing surface. The vacuum slot is in fluid communication with the web-facing surface and extends from the web-facing surface to the body which is in further fluid communication with a vacuum source. The web-facing surface comprises a leading surface and a trailing surface. The leading surface has a transitional area juxtaposed with the aperture created by the vacuum slot. This transitional area has a predetermined Z-directional spacing from the papermaking belt, which Z-spacing continuously and gradually increases in the machine direction whereby the amount of vacuum pressure applied through the vacuum slot to the paper web gradually increases as the paper web travels in the machine direction over the slot.
