Compositions include novel amino acid sequences, and variants and fragments thereof, for antipathogenic polypeptides that were isolated from maize. Nucleic acid molecules comprising nucleotide sequences that encode the antipathogenic polypeptides of the embodiments are also provided. A method for inducing pathogen resistance in a plant using the nucleotide sequences disclosed herein is further provided. The method comprises introducing into a plant a DNA construct comprising a promoter operably linked to a nucleotide sequence that encodes an antipathogenic polypeptide of the embodiments. A hand held device for generating ultrasonic vibrations comprises an elongate tubular casing having therein a piezoelectric vibratory element comprising an elongate bar of piezoelectric material and a generator that develops an electrical signal having a predetermined ultrasonic frequency that excites the piezoelectric vibratory element into ultrasonic vibration. The piezoelectric vibratory element also functions as the dielectric of a capacitor which constitutes part of the generator and which determines the ultrasonic frequency of the electrical signal output of the generator. A work tool protrudes from the casing and is vibrationally coupled to the piezoelectric vibrator element by a vibratory rod which transmits the vibrations from the piezoelectric vibratory element to the work tool. A cooling system is disposed within the casing and flows a cooling agent through the device to cool both the piezoelectric vibratory element and the generator and the cooling agent is discharged from the device in atomized form through an opening in the work tool. Manually operable control means on the casing controls the generator and the cooling agent.

A sacking connection for filling sacks that are open at the top with dusty products has two spreading flaps that can be pivoted around horizontal axes. Clamping jaws can be pivoted around horizontal axes and hold the edge of the opening of the sack against the spreading flaps. The front of the spreading flaps are connected by dustproof aprons made of a flexible material and fastened in the vicinity of the side edges of the flaps. When folding-sided sacks are filled, a folding device that can be displaced along with its functions of folding from outside the sacking connection into the space inside the sacking connection is associated with each apron. When flat sacks are filled, a spreading device that can be displaced outward from inside along with its functions of spreading is associated with each apron. The functions of folding or of spreading connect the edge of the sack opening with the aprons to prevent dust from building up on the inside of the edge of the opening of the sack.
