摘要: A method of determining an amount of media in a stack of media that is disposed within a media holding receptacle of an imaging system, the method includes providing a stack-compressing element configured to contact a first piece of media in the stack of media; providing a sensor to detect a position of the first piece of media; applying a first compressive force to the stack of media via the stack-compressing element in contact with the first piece of media; applying a second compressive force to the stack of media via the stack-compressing element in contact with the first piece of media, the second compressive force being greater than the first compressive force; and using the sensor to detect the position of the first piece of media after the second compressive force is applied to the stack of media.

摘要: Identifying an airliner motion event at a mobile device may utilize, for example, one or more accelerometers, an acceleration feature extractor, and a motion event identification processor. The one or more accelerometers may be configured to output calibrated triaxial accelerometer data. The acceleration feature extractor may be configured to determine scalar acceleration signals from the calibrated triaxial accelerometer data, to filter the scalar acceleration signals to reduce high frequency noise, and to process the filtered scalar acceleration signals to generate an acceleration spread waveform. The motion event identification processor may be configured to compare the acceleration spread waveform to one or more predetermined patterns characteristic of an airliner motion event, and to identify an airliner motion event based on whether the comparing results in a substantial match.

摘要: A thermal shock protected gas sensor includes a body, a ceramic sensor element positioned in the body, and a protection tube. Thermal shock protection against liquid water impingement on the hot ceramic sensor element is provided by a sleeve of ceramic fiber woven fabric positioned between the ceramic sensor element and the protection tube, and an annular gap between the ceramic sensor element and the protection tube on at least one side of the sleeve. Alternately, thermal shock protection is provided by a porous monolithic cast ceramic layer between the ceramic sensor element and the protection tube.

摘要: The invention provides the combined use of UF and MVR for the treatment of industrial process fluid wastewater that contains recoverable material. The recoverable material desirably has a molecular diameter of less than about 5 to 6 nm and a boiling point of less than about 200° C. In one embodiment, the recoverable material may then be utilized in the preparation of another industrial process fluid. In another embodiment, the recoverable material is isolated and retained for later use. The invention thereby provides aqueous industrial process fluid which contains water; one or more of an emulsifier, oil, amine, biocide, thickener, lubricant, dispersant, antioxidant, corrosion inhibitor, alkaline compound, surfactant, and carrier; and one or more chemical compounds recovered from aqueous industrial process fluid wastewater treated with UF and MVR.

摘要: A folding attic stair assembly comprises a rectangular outer mounting frame. An inner stairway carrying frame is mounted by a hinge at one end of the outer mounting frame for movement between a raised stored position on the outer mounting frame and a lowered position extending downwardly from the mounting frame. An extendable attic stair is mounted on the inner frame. A pair of folding support arms extend between the outer mounting frame and the inner stairway carrying frame. A cable connects between each folding support arm and an associated reel mounted on a drive shaft which is connected to a drive motor. This drive motor is operable to wind and unwind the cables on the reels to raise and lower the attic stair in a controlled manner.

摘要: The tape cartridge leader includes a smoothing feature that comprises a blind cut out formed in a surface of the tape cartridge leader that faces the hub of the take-up reel when the tape cartridge leader is wound on the hub to compensate for the irregularity generated by the buckling mechanism. The blind cut out consists of a shallow, smooth depression that is positioned to overlay the buckling mechanism. The geometry and size of the blind cut out can be selected from a wide variety of options, with all of these variations having the advantage of providing increased tensile strength for the tape cartridge leader over tape cartridge leaders that use smoothing apertures, since there is no hole formed in the tape cartridge leader.
