摘要: A control system and method selects a switch configuration for a power circuit having N binary switches, based in part on a finite state machine. The control system includes an embedded simulator, and present and next state contemplators. The various switch states of the power circuit are modeled by the finite state machine such that at any time, the power circuit switches are in a Present State and there are a plurality of Next States which are one or more switch transitions away from the Present State. The embedded simulator estimates the operating conditions of the load based on measured operational characteristics and the Present State. The present state contemplator determines, based on the operating conditions, whether a switch state transition should be contemplated. If so, the next state contemplator determines the optimal next state based on performance criteria and sends a state switch command to the power circuit.

摘要: A phosphate and ammonia free composition for treating an object (i.e., lumber, plywood and other wood products) is described. The treating solution may be applied to the object by dipping, soaking, brushing, spraying, etc., however, vacuum and/or pressure techniques may be used to impregnate the object according to the method of this invention, including both the empty-cell process and the full-cell process. The composition achieves fire retardant qualities without object degradation when the treated object is subjected to heat and humidity over time. The composition of this invention includes nitrogen in a predetermined ratio to boron.

摘要: The present invention discloses, in certain embodiments, a method for treating a concrete slurry to recover constituents thereof, the constituents including water, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, and cement solids, the method comprising removing aggregate from the concrete slurry with aggregate separation apparatus, the aggregate separation apparatus producing a secondary slurry containing cement solids, feeding the secondary slurry to a clarifier in which cement solids settle out from the secondary slurry to a bottom of the clarifier and a liquid which is primarily water is disposed above the cement solids, removing the liquid from the clarifier, feeding settled out cement solids in liquid from the clarifier to a centrifuge, separating settled out cement solids from the liquid in the centrifuge producing an amount of liquid and an amount of settled out cement solids with liquid. In one aspect the settled out cement solids in liquid fed from the clarifier to the centrifuge comprise at most about 20% of the secondary slurry fed to the clarifier. In one aspect a dewatered cement paste is produced which is at most about 60% water by weight. The present invention discloses recovered cement solids recovered by methods according to the present invention.

摘要: A process is provided for forming a fire retardant composition useful for treating cellulosic materials to impart both fire retardant properties and improved thermal stability under high temperature and humidity conditions. The process comprises reacting a solution of orthophosphoric acid, urea and water having a weight ratio from about 0.1 to about 15 orthophosphoric acid per part urea for a time of about 15 minutes to about 3 hours at a temperature from about 25.degree. C. to about 90.degree. C.; adding hydroxide in an amount sufficient to adjust the pH of the solution from about 6.0 to about 9.0; reacting the solution with formaldehyde having a weight ratio from about 1.0 to about 56 total initial orthophosphoric acid per part formaldehyde for a time of about 5 minutes to about 1.5 hours at a temperature from about 25.degree. C. to about 90.degree. C., and adjusting the final pH of the solution from about 7.0 to about 8.5 with ammonium hydroxide. In another aspect thereof, the present invention provides a method of treating cellulosic materials comprising impregnating the cellulosic material with a fire retardant amount of the fire retardant composition formed in accordance with the above process.
