Abstract:
A system and method for transferring and storing a vehicle's passenger doors is disclosed. The passenger door may be adjusted from a closed condition, preventing a passenger from accessing the interior of the vehicle, to a stored condition where the passenger door is stored within the vehicle's storage compartment. The passenger door remains supported to the vehicle throughout the process.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wiper system for a window of a motor vehicle. A wiper assembly is provided that oscillates over the window to remove moisture. A slider member extends outwardly and generally away from the wiper assembly. A pivotal lifter is affixed to the motor vehicle and engages the slider member to pivotally lift the wiper assembly away from the window upon deactivation of the wiper system. The present invention also relates to a corresponding method of making a wiper system in accordance with the above description.
Abstract:
Transfer ramp for Car to wheelchair. This new design safely helps transfer someone from or to the car or wheelchair. This design is self-supporting between the lower structure of the car seat, car structure under the door, the outboard floor riser ledge of car structure under the door and the rear vertical support column of the door frame. It is only supported from the car side. The person can actually sit on the edge of the board before sliding over to the wheelchair. It is more of a platform than a transfer board. It is more fixed than a standard transfer board that is commonly available on most of the market. This design minimizes the 12″ gap that exists between the car seat and wheel chair when using a standard transfer board.
Abstract:
An electronically actuated valve assembly for an internal combustion engine is disclosed, wherein the valve assembly comprises a valve stem, and a plurality of shape memory alloy segments in operative communication with the valve stem, wherein each shape memory alloy segment is individually actuatable, and wherein actuation of different shape memory alloy segments is configured to cause different valve lifts.
Abstract:
A mode-switching cam follower is disclosed, wherein the follower includes a body, a cam contact movably coupled to the body, and a latch member movably coupled to the body. A shape-memory alloy in communication with the latch member couples and decouples the latch member with the cam.
Abstract:
An electronically actuated valve assembly for an internal combustion engine is disclosed, wherein the valve assembly comprises a valve stem, a shape memory alloy actuator in operative communication with the valve stem, a coolant passage through which at least a portion of the shape memory alloy actuator extends, and a cooling fluid source in communication with the coolant passage.

Transfer ramp for Car to wheelchair. This new design safely helps transfer someone from or to the car or wheelchair is disclosed. My design is self-supporting between the seat, car frame and floorboard ledge. It is only supported from the car side. The person can actually sit on the edge of the board before sliding over to the wheelchair. It is more of a platform then a transfer board. It is more fixed then a standard transfer board. This designs minimizes the 12″ gap that we had when using the standard wood transfer board.
