摘要: A wheel balancing weight attached to the rim of a wheel for balancing the wheel is disclosed. The wheel balancing weight comprises a weight mass manufactured from zinc composite or a zinc based material and a means for attaching said weight mass to the rim. The zinc composite or zinc based material wheel balancing weight exhibits physical characteristics in terms of corrosion resistance and ductility comparable to those of traditional lead alloy wheel balancing weights while at the same time providing an environmentally friendly alternative to lead.

摘要: An engine mount for a vehicle, such as a snowmobile, that can be used when space for the engine within a chassis is limited and which is easily accessed from the side of the chassis for assembly and repair. The engine mount can be attached to the bottom of an engine that is positioned within a chassis. The engine mount can include four hollow, cylindrical portions. Each cylindrical portion having an axis extending transverse to the longitudinal direction of the snowmobile chassis and receiving a damping mount. Fasteners can be inserted through the chassis to couple with the damping mounts and cylindrical portions in a direction that is transverse to the longitudinal direction of the chassis. The configuration of the damping mounts permits effective damping especially in a direction transverse to the direction of forward travel of the vehicle.

摘要: A process for producing a low alloy white cast iron is disclosed. The process comprises the steps of selecting one of a group of four alloying elements for a nickel, molybdenum/copper or modified low alloy iron; the four alloying groups consisting essentially, by weight percent of about:Group 1: 2.5 to 4.0% carbon; 0.3 to 0.8% silicon; 0.3 to 0.8% manganese; 0.75 to 2.0% nickel; 0 to 0.75% chromium.Group 2: 3.0 to 4.5% carbon; 0.3 to 0.8% silicon; 0.3 to 1.0% manganese; 0 to 0.8% molybdenum; and 0.3 to 1.0% copper.Group 3: 3.0 to 4.5% carbon; 0.3 to 0.8% silicon; 0.3 to 1.0% manganese; and 0.3 to 0.8% copper;the balance being iron except for incidental impurities commonly found in cast irons; melting the alloy; casting such alloy into moulds to produce the desired product; removing the product from the moulds while its surface temperature is above the transformation temperature of the alloy; and cooling it by quenching into a liquid medium containing water and an organic polymer at a sufficiently high rate to prevent the formation of pearlite but not so high as to generate cracks in the product.

摘要: Nested-cavity optical parametric oscillator for fast frequency tuning including a source of pump radiation (fp), a non linear crystal situated within two resonant cavities for the signal and complementary radiations of respective optical lengths ls and lc. A doubly resonant resonator for a single pair of longitudinal signal and complementary modes is formed having a crystal of prismatic shape, the crystal (7) being moveable within the plane xz along a direction forming a non zero angle β with respect to the direction x. The value of β is fixed so that the movement of the crystal is accompanied by a change in the respective optical lengths ls and lc of the two resonant cavities in a ratio such that the double resonance condition between the longitudinal modes of each cavity is maintained.

摘要: The oscillator comprises two resonant cavities in which a non-linear crystal (3) is situated. The incident pumping radiation Rpe follows an emitting path across the crystal, the generated signal and complementary radiation carry out numerous emitted and return paths in the cavities, hence across the crystal and are thus converted into an inverse pumping radiation on the return paths thereof. According to the invention, a device (4) is incorporated in the oscillator for reflection of a fraction of the pumping radiation equivalent to the inverse pumping radiation in the absence of the device.
