    摘要: An image display apparatus comprises a line buffer unit which stores binary image data, the binary image data being divided into a plurality of line portion data, each line portion data having a fixed length. Pattern matching units are connected in parallel with the line buffer unit and receives the line portion data respectively, each pattern matching unit determining whether an input pattern of a related line portion data matches with one of reference patterns. When the match occurs each pattern matching unit outputs a truth signal indicating the value one, and otherwise each pattern matching unit outputs a falseness signal indicating the value zero. A judgment unit receives the truth or falseness signals from the pattern matching units and determines how many times the match with respect to one of the reference patterns occurs in succession based on the received signals, the judgment unit encoding lengths of runs for the line portion data having the fixed length based on results of the determination and storing the codes in the video memory.

    摘要: A metal vapor discharge lamp including an arc tube 1 that includes a container 10 and power transmission members 20a and 20b. The container 10, made of translucent ceramic, is divided into a main tube portion 11 and narrow tube portions 12a and 12b extending out from both ends of the main tube portion 11. The power transmission members 20a and 20b respectively include electrode pins 21a and 21b made of tungsten. Coils 22a and 22b made of tungsten are respectively wound around ends of electrode pins 21a and 21b, which are respectively joined with electrode supporting members 23a and 23b made of conductive cermet. Electrode length L1 is set to (0.041P+0.5) mm to (0.041P+8.0) mm, “P” representing a lamp power in watts. Alternatively, a narrow tube portion length L2 is set to (0.032P+3.5) mm to (0.032P+8.0) mm inclusive.

    摘要: The image data is divided into groups of a predetermined fixed length, and the divided groups are simultaneously compared to predetermined patters for the entropy encoding to render a display image in the video memory unit. Because of the above processing, the encoding process is rapidly performed, and the processing speed is lower that that of prior art image processing techniques that do not involve data compression. Thus, the above described process is comparable in image rendering to prior art techniques that do not involve encoding and decoding. Because of the encoding compression, the video memory is efficiently utilized, and the video memory capacity is reduced.

The system then calculates display information of one-dimensional absolute address position information in response to display information in which coordinate information is made into two-dimensional coordinate information. This display information is stored in the storing device, and then supplied to the displaying device so as to be displayed. The display device is primarily a dot type device.
