A method and an apparatus for sharing media using a social network in a communication system are provided. A method of a transmit terminal for sharing media using a social network includes transmitting to a media server, identification information relating to at least one counterpart terminal, generating media comprising location information associated with the media, and registering the generated media to the media server. A method of a receive terminal for sharing media using a social network includes transmitting to a media server, identification information relating to at least one counterpart terminal, transmitting location information of the receive terminal to the media server, and receiving from the media server, media corresponding to the location information among media registered by the at least one counterpart terminal.

Provided are a method and an apparatus for predicting a preference rating for content, and a method and an apparatus for selecting sample content in order to predict a preference rating for the content. In the method of predicting a preference rating for the content, a list of users having similar preferences to a target user is extracted from content usage information collected with respect to the same content, and the target user's preference rating for the content is predicted by applying preference rating information of the users with similar preferences to a machine learning algorithm.

A method of adaptively updating a first recommended user group list of a first user connected to a network, in which a predetermined number of second users are selected from the first recommend user group list that is a list of users having a high similarity to the first user in consuming contents. A predetermined number of third users having a high similarity to the first user is selected from second recommend user group lists respectively of the selected second users possess. The first recommend user group list is updated to include the selected third users. As the preference of a user changes, the recommend user group may be reconfigured with updated recommend users by reflecting a corresponding preference. Also, quality contents can be provided by recommending a user of a corresponding terminal with the contents preferred by other users in the updated recommend user group list.

There are provided a micro gas sensor and a method for fabricating the same that comprises a micro heater formed inside a polysilicon membrane by doping impurities into a specific region of the polysilicon membrane positioned under a gas sensing substance, thereby improving thermal structural stability and making it easy to form the gas sensing substance. The micro gas sensor comprises: a micro heater formed by doping impurities into polysilicon vapor-deposited on a substrate on which a first insulating layer is formed; a polysilicon membrane for decreasing a heat loss of the micro heater; a power electrode for supplying power and a temperature measurement electrode for measuring a temperature, positioned at both ends of the micro heater; a second insulating layer formed on the micro heater; a sensing substance formed on the second insulating layer, for sensing a gas; and a sensing electrode for measuring a change in properties of the sensing substance. The method for fabricating a micro gas sensor comprises steps of: forming polysilicon on a substrate on which a first insulating layer is formed; forming a micro heater by doping impurities into the polysilicon; forming electrodes at both ends of the micro heater; forming a second insulating layer on the micro heater; forming a sensing substance on the second insulating layer; and forming a sensing electrode on the sensing substance.

In the method, whether a communication environment between a base station and the relay device changes is determined so that information representing the change in the communication environment is selectively created, and then a communication environment between the relay device and the mobile terminal is controlled based on the created information.

A method of and apparatus for constructing a user profile using a content tag, a method of recommending digital content by using a user profile including a tag included in the digital content and a preference value for the tag. According to the methods and apparatus, a user profile is generated by using a content tag, and thus the taste of the user according to digital content consumption can be expressed in more varied ways. Also, by suggesting a method of generating a tag from web content, construction of a user profile for digital content having no tag is enabled. Furthermore, a tag extracted from digital content used by a user is included in a profile and it can be used for a variety of purposes, such as expansion of a comparison scope, use of preference keywords, providing of content links, and expansion of search scope.

Disclosed herein is a system structure for extracting relations between technical terms within a large amount of literature information using verb-based patterns. The present invention provides a system that is capable of extracting relations based on verb-based patterns from abstract and bibliography databases in all fields of science and technology using a Tech Association Mining Appliance (TAMA) capable of detecting the technical terms of text and relations therebetween in academic literature databases in the fields of science and technology. The present invention has an advantage of providing a practical relation extraction system structure using a number of academic databases.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for extracting the semantic relations of context and a recording medium storing the program source thereof. The present invention is intended to detect technical terms by parsing full text of documents and recommend research topics using the relations therebetween using a method of searching for a first concept connected to a specific vocabulary word through a casual relationship and a second concept connected to the first concept through a causal relationship, determining the relation therebetween and performing recommendation as research topics. The present invention has the industrial utilization advantage of improving the overall search efficiency and utility of massive databases.

Provided are a migration apparatus and method for converting a sequential access method (SAM)/virtual storage access method (VSAM) file of a mainframe system into an appropriate SAM/VSAM file for an open system. The migration apparatus includes: an information obtaining module for obtaining various file information on a SAM file of the mainframe system; a data obtaining module for obtaining actual data of the SAM file of the mainframe system composed of Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange Code (EBCDIC) in binary format; a code conversion module for converting the obtained actual data composed of EBCDIC into American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) code; a file combination module for combining the obtained file information on the SAM file with the actual data corresponding to the file information and converted into ASCII code; and a file registration module for registering the file information of the combined SAM file in the open system. The migration apparatus and method efficiently reuse a conventionally used SAM/VSAM file during a rehosting process of converting a mainframe system into an open system.
