摘要: An image processing system (250) and method (300) are disclosed for correcting a head pose in a video phone image, so that a frontal view is presented on a display. A disclosed head pose corrector (250) estimates the orientation of a head pose and adjusts the orientation of the head pose, if necessary, to present a frontal view. The orientation of the head pose is adjusted by generating a three dimensional model of the face surface and adjusting the orientation of the three dimensional face model to provide the desired frontal view. The head pose corrector (250) may be included in a video phone (100) to correct the head pose of transmitted or received images (or both) or may be included in a server on a network to automatically adjust the head shots of one or more participants to a video phone communication.

摘要: An imaging-based bar code reader that includes an item guide to guide movement of an item including a target bar code such that target bar code passes through a field of view of the reader in a straight line. The reader further includes an imaging and decoding system to: 1) capture a series of images which include at least a part of the target bar code as the bar code is moved through the field of view of the reader; 2) sequentially analyze the series of captured images, for each captured image, identifying areas of the captured image representative of an image of the target bar code and decode decodable portions of the imaged target bar code; and 3) combining the decoded portions of the imaged target bar code using a sequence stitching method to obtain a full decode of the target bar code.

摘要: Described is a system and method for bar code detection. The method comprises generating a digitized bar pattern (DBP) including a series of elements corresponding to elements of a scanned bar code, and identifying a first set of margins around a first portion of the series of elements. When an attempt to decode the first portion is unsuccessful, the first portion is analyzed to determine a second set of margins around a second portion of the series of elements, the second set of margins being within the first set of margins, and the second portion is input to a decoding algorithm.

摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for generating and maintaining enhanced background models for use in background-foreground segmentation. Background models are modified to contain an indication of objects that are typically stationary. Thereafter, if an object moves and has been previously identified as an object that is typically stationary, the object will not unnecessarily be identified as part of the foreground during background-foreground segmentation. In an exemplary implementation, moving objects are classified into two sets. A first set includes objects that typically move independently and a second set includes objects that are typically stationary. Generally, once an object is assigned to the second (stationary object) set, the object will remain in the background, even if the object is moved (normally, movement of the object would cause the object to become part of the foreground).
