    摘要: A papermaker's pressure belt for extended nip presses, which comprises a belt base formed of a strong woven fabric having high dimensional stability, a squeezing layer to be in contact with a wet fibrous web on an extended nip press, having a large void volume and formed of a compressible elastic and porous or cellular material, such as fibrous batt, sponge or a foam resin, and formed on one side of the belt base, and an impermeable layer impermeable to oil, formed on the other side of the belt base. The squeezing layer facilitates the separation of the fibrous web from the pressure belt, while the impermeable layer inhibits the permeation of the lubricant applied to the acting surface of the pressure shoe of the extended nip press through the pressure belt.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method of measuring the activity of a substance to test how it inhibits or promotes the production of the blood coagulation factor XII in an active form (FXIIa). An activation reaction of the blood coagulation factor XII is initiated by adding a blood coagulation factor XII activator to an animal plasma in the presence of the tested substance. Then the reaction is stopped and the blood coagulation factor XII in an active form (FXIIa) produced in the above reaction is quantitatively determined. FXIIa plays a very important role in the initiation stage in the intrinsic blood clotting system, fibrinolysis system and plasma kallikrein-kinin system. Accordingly, the method of the present invention in which the activity of the tested substance having an inhibiting or promoting action on the production of FXIIa is measured is very highly useful in screening compounds or drugs related to blood clotting and fibrinolysis systems. It may also be used to screen compounds or drugs related to the plasma kallikrein-kinin system such as, for example, blood pressure controlling agents, antiinflammatory agents, analgesics, antiallergic agents, etc.

    摘要: Ink metering rollers include a core roller and a synthetic resin matrix layer formed on the periphery of the core roller. The matrix layer has a number of hemi-spherical depressions formed in its surface and also a number of hollow microballoons embedded therein. As the matrix layer of the ink metering roller is gradually worn, the hollow microballoons open in the surface of the matrix layer thereby forming spherical depressions. Hence, the spherical depressions are always distributed uniformly in the surface of the matrix layer, and hold a prescribed amount of ink. The ink metering roller therefore uniformly transfers and distributes a desired amount of ink onto the entire periphery of inking rollers associated with keyless printing machines.
