Abstract: A tire is configured to rotate about an axis of rotation. The tire includes a tread block forming part of a tread of the tire and a circuit having a primary capacitive component. At least a part of the primary capacitive component is arranged a first distance from the tread and inside the tread block and a primary inductive component of which at least a part is arranged a second distance towards the interior of the tire from the tread. The tire includes an interrogator having an electric source, a communication circuit, and a secondary inductive component. The secondary inductive component is arranged on the same side of the tread as the primary inductive component and part of the secondary inductive component is arranged a third distance from the tread, the third distance being greater than the second distance. A method arranges a wear indicator on a tire.

Abstract: A tyre (200) includes a tread (210) having tread blocks (220) with grooves (230) arranged between the tread blocks (220) and studs (100, 100a, 100b) installed into at least some of the tread blocks (220). A central region (CR) of the tread (210) is arranged between a first shoulder region (SR1) of the tread (210) and a second shoulder region (SR2) of the tread (210). At least some of the tread blocks (220) are provided with sipes (240). The tyre (200) has a first density of sipes (240) in the central region (CR), a second density of sipes (240) in the first shoulder region (SR1), and a third density of sipes (240) in the second shoulder region (SR2). The first density of sipes (240) is at least 15% greater than either or both of the second density of sipes (240) and the third density of sipes (240).

Abstract: A tread block arrangement suitable for a tire or for a tread band for a tire. The tread block arrangement comprises a tread block that limits a first primary sipe. The first primary sipe comprises at least a first deep part and a second deep part separated from the first deep part by a first shallow part. A depth of the first deep part is at least three times a depth of the first shallow part and a depth of the second deep part is at least three times the depth of the first shallow part. The first deep part is limited in a longitudinal direction of the first primary sipe by a primary first end wall and a secondary first end wall such that a first angle between the primary first end wall and the secondary first end wall is from 1 degree to 30 degrees. The second deep part is limited in a longitudinal direction of the first primary sipe by a primary second end wall and a secondary second end wall such that a second angle between the primary second end wall and the secondary second end wall is from 1 degree to 30 degrees.

The ply materials are arranged so the cords thereof are arranged cross-wise with respect to its neighboring ply materials or a neighboring ply material, considering the innermost or outermost layer.

Abstract: A pneumatic tyre contains a structure wherein a thermally adaptive underlayer is positioned beneath a tread layer. The thermally adaptive underlayer is based on a polymer system selected to contain elastomers with distinct glass transition temperatures sufficiently far apart and which exhibit low miscibility towards each other. Due to the tyre construction and the thermally adaptive underlayer, while driving a vehicle, performance characteristics of the pneumatic tyre adapt to the driving conditions on the road based on the temperature experienced by the thermally adaptive underlayer. This may be of particularly relevant during colder seasons, such as for a winter tyre, wherein the thermally adaptive underlayer may be used for an improved tread layer and for a studded pneumatic tyre, wherein the composition and thickness of the thermally adaptive underlayer may be used to control the dynamic impact of the stud on a driving surface, when the tyre is in motion.
