摘要: Devices, systems, and methods for covering containers are disclosed herein. Embodiments thereof include a cover member, a support assembly, and a retainer assembly. The cover member having each of top and bottom edges and first and second lateral sides, together defining a cover member body having upper, middle, and lower portions. The cover member is configured both to be supported by a container and to adjustably wrap around at least a portion of the container to conceal the portion from a point of view. The support assembly is configured both to removably attach the cover member to the container and to adjust a vertical position of the cover member relative to the container, thereby positioning the cover member at the container, allowing adjustment of the cover member's tautness around the container. The retainer assembly is configured to secure and to adjust and maintain the cover member's tautness around the container.

摘要: A system and method for fitting footwear and footwear inserts provides a removable insert which measures the foot by thermal imaging. The insert is provided with a thermally sensitive layer, for example a thermochromic material having a color transition interval within the range between room temperature and body temperature, that thus reacts to the heat transferred from portions of the foot in contact with the insert and temporarily changes color. The insert retains an image of the footprint for a short interval after contact with the foot, and can be removed from the footwear to examine the position and size of the foot relative to the footwear insole (and thus relative to the footwear) when the footwear is actually worn. For inserts which are purchased separately for cushioning, odor-reduction etc., the footprint image can be used as a guide to cut the footwear insert to follow the shape of an individual's foot.

摘要: Energy storage devices are disclosed that store both electrical and mechanical energies, making the total energy stored larger than either an electrical or mechanical means alone. The energy storage device is charged by the application of a voltage, which charges a capacitor to store electrical energy while simultaneously exerting a force on the mechanical system that deforms the mechanical system, resulting in mechanical energy storage. When the charged device is discharged, both the electrical and mechanical energy are extracted in electrical form. Its unique features include, but are not limited to, the potential for long lifetime, improved safety, better portability, a wide operating temperature range, and environment friendliness. Arrays of energy storage devices can be assembled in various configurations to build high capacity energy storage units.

摘要: An improved meeting scheduling system that automatically proposes a reduced cost available meeting room for a meeting based on the invited attendees and locations of available meeting rooms. A reduced cost available meeting room may be the meeting room to which the attendees as a whole are presumed to be nearest in distance at the time the meeting begins. In addition to the proximity or distance of each of the attendees to the available meeting rooms, other relevant data concerning the attendees may be factored by the meeting scheduling system such as the hierarchy of an attendee in relation to the other attendees, attendee security access privileges to a particular location, and the distances between attendees.

摘要: Footwear comprising a detachable wheel assembly such that a wheel protrudes from a first face of the wheel assembly and is recessed from a second, opposite face of the wheel assembly. An engaging mechanism detachably engages the wheel assembly in a first orientation in which the wheel protrudes from the bottom of the wheel assembly, or in a second position in which the wheel is recessed from bottom of the wheel assembly and thereby from the supporting surface. The footwear may also have a skid pad to enable a user to come to a gradual stop rather than an abrupt stop.

摘要: A dispersing apparatus (10, 110, 210) uniformly disperses a stream of material pieces, such as wood chips, into a storage area (84) from an overhead feeding channel in order to achieve efficient and compact accumulation of the material pieces in the storage area (84). The dispersing apparatus (10, 110, 210) is detachably mounted to the feeding channel and has an impeller (18, 118) with a plurality of impeller blades (22a-22d; 122a-122d) for rotating through the stream of wood chips for transversely engaging the same. As a result, the wood chips are propelled outwardly from the feeding channel and uniformly toward the storage area (84). A first impeller (18) is shaped in the form of a cone configuration and is utilized to project material pieces outwardly and downwardly from the feeding channel. A second impeller (118) has a dish (128) with a concave deflection surface (132) for directing the material pieces outwardly and upwardly from the feeding channel. A directional deflection mechanism (212) having a deflector shield (214) may be implemented on the dispersing apparatus (10, 110, 210) in order to selectively direct the distribution of wood chips into the storage area (84).
