    摘要: The invention provides a mechanical viewing structure or theater for viewing small screens associated with personal electronic devices. The viewing structure is made of four semi-rigid trapezoid shaped walls joined together to form a hollow trapezoidal viewing structure that optionally is collapsible. The viewing structure has a larger opening that is fitted with a magnifying screen and a smaller opening adapted to be placed above the screen of the personal electronic device and magnify that image for the viewer. The invention also includes a projector that may be releasably attached to the viewing structure to allow an image present on the personal electronic device to be projected onto a remote surface, such as a wall or ceiling.

The preferred range for the protrusion is about 6 to about 8 micro-inches and the area of the flat surface is preferably in the range of about 3 to about 4 square millimeters.

    摘要: A magnetic head assembly includes a ferrite core sandwiched between two ceramic layers. Alumina films are deposited by sputtering on the sides of the ferrite core and on the ceramic layers in one structure, and on the ferrite core only in another structure, which are then bonded to form an integral head assembly. Slots to provide flying height control are formed in the air bearing surface of the ceramic layers. The process of making the assembly includes the steps of sputter etching the ferrite and ceramic prior to the deposition of the alumina.

    摘要: A method for batch fabricating magnetic heads with a desired cant angle in the transducing surface of the magnetic core. The cant angle reduces the "Minor Bit" phenomenon. The two parts of the core which require the cant angle are mounted on a fixture so that a grind wheel is simultaneously in contact with both parts. Materials are simultaneously subtracted (i.e., grind away) from both parts to create mirror images at the surfaces which adjoin the grind wheel. The surfaces are then cleaned and glassed to provide a core bar with intimate fit. The core bar is diced into individual cores and is lapped to size. The individual cores are then fitted into a slider assembly to form the magnetic head.

    摘要: A coupler for a magnetic head includes a flat circumferential surface around the aperture in which the head is mounted and a circumferential orifice surface outside of and adjacent to the flat surface. The orifice surface forms a hydrodynamic orifice for control of flow of air over the flat circumferential surface to couple the magnetic medium to the magnetic head by the Bernoulli effect created by movement of air between the medium and the flat circumferential surface. The coupler protrudes through a flat Bernoulli plate against which the magnetic disk is rotated.
