摘要: A number of osteotomes, n, form a set of osteotomes, for use during a ridge expansion osteotomy to reduce alveolar stress and to reduce likelihood of a fracture, with each osteotome of the set having a conical working tip with a free end having a diameter ϕAn, and a working base ϕBn; a first osteotome, n=1, of the set has the working tip formed with a first diameter, ϕA1=Y, at the free end, and with a second diameter, ϕB1−X, at the working base, the second diameter being larger than the first diameter, X>Y; and wherein for successive osteotomes of the set, the diameter at the free end increases as an alternate step and regressive step sequence, and the diameter at the working base alternately increases by a constant increment c, as a step function.

摘要: A flip-flop sandal includes a colored sole, and first and second straps that transition laterally away from a thong secured to the front of the sole. Rubber bands of different colors, thicknesses, outer diameters, and/or textures are received over the stop members at the distal ends of the straps, and onto the straps to customize its appearance. A special tool may be releasably coupled to the stop member and be used to easily slide the rubber bands over the stop members. The straps may have recesses transverse to its length, formed about an entire periphery of the strap, with rubber hands each configured to fit within one of the recesses. The rubber bands, straps, and/or portions of the sole may be formed of a material configured to absorb photons when present, and thereafter glow the various different colors when in the dark. Alternative manufacturing methods for flip flops is also provided.

摘要: A set of osteotomes have conical tips with free end diameters alternately increasing by a constant increment, k, as a step function, beginning with the first osteotome; and working base diameters alternately increases by a constant increment, C, as a step function, beginning with the second osteotome. For seven osteotomes, the first and second diameters respectively are: 1 mm and 2 mm; 1 mm and 3 mm; 2 mm and 3 mm; 2 mm and 4 mm; 3 mm and 4 mm; 3 mm and 5 mm; and 4 mm and 5 mm. In a first mode all seven osteotomes are used to provide very gradual diameter escalations. In a second mode the first, third, fifth, and seventh osteotomes provide conventional Summers' diameter escalations. In third and fourth modes the first, fourth, and seventh osteotomes, and the second, fifth, and seventh osteotomes respectively provide increasingly more aggressive Summers' type escalations.

摘要: A device, for atraumatically elevating the Schneiderian membrane during a sinus lift procedure with positive, real-time indication of the amount of lift occurring, may include: a first conduit; a first balloon coupled to a first end of the first conduit and in fluid communication therewith; a second conduit; a second balloon coupled to a first end of the second conduit and in fluid communication therewith; and means for infusing a fluid into the first and second conduits to cause inflation of the balloons. The balloons may be constructed the same, or may be individually tailored. The first balloon is configured to be received within the implant socket and. apply pressure to the membrane. The second balloon, expanding against atmospheric pressure only, is configured of a different material and wall thickness. An integral scale behind the second balloon provides indication of the inflation and lift provided by the first balloon.

摘要: A set of Osteotomes used for forming an implant socket during a ridge expansion osteotomy may be specially constructed to reduce crestal alveolar stress and to reduce likelihood of a crestal fracture. Each osteotome includes a conical working tip having a free end and a working base. A first osteotome of the set has a working tip formed with a first diameter, Y, at the free end, and a second diameter, X, at the working base, with the second diameter being larger than the first diameter, X>Y; and wherein for each successive osteotome of the set, the diameter at the free end increases linearly by a constant increment, k, and the diameter at the working base alternately increases by a constant increment, C, as a step function. Other interrelationships between the free end and the working base of the previous and successive osteotomes operate to maintain crestal integrity.

摘要: A holder for dental workpieces that are associated in a one to one relationship with the canals of a tooth has receptacles for temporarily storing the workpieces while the workpieces are not in the tooth. The receptacles are sufficient in number to store the workpieces with a single workpiece in each receptacle. The receptacles are arranged in a pattern that corresponds to the canal pattern in the tooth.

摘要: An osteotome for sinus lift procedures includes a body interchangeable with various handles. The body includes a shaft that is releasably received into the handle, and a tip portion. The tip portion may be directly utilized for ridge expansion/bone compression, or a succession of tip members may instead be received thereon to provide suitable diameter escalation to create the socket. A conduit in the tip portion interconnects with a conduit in a hydration port and a conduit in a tip member. A hose couples the hydration port to a syringe, to deliver fluid out the tip member to lift the membrane. Graduated syringe markings permit delivery of measured fluid quantities to control the amount of lift. A second hydration port is coupled, to a graduated cylinder through a valve, which is opened after lifting is complete, to measure the fluid released. A loss of fluid measured indicates a sinus tear.
