摘要： A medical fluid flow control system comprises an interface including a pump actuator port and a pump seal port, a membrane gasket including a pump actuation area and a pump aperture, and a pumping cassette including a flexible sheet and defining a pump chamber, a pump portion of the flexible sheet covering the pump chamber. The pump seal port is operable with the pump aperture to seal the pump portion of the flexible sheet to the pump actuation area of the membrane gasket and the pump actuator port is configured to move the pump portion of the flexible sheet and the pump actuation area of the membrane gasket at the pump chamber of the cassette.

摘要： A portable, flexible peritoneal dialysis system is disclosed. The system includes a flexible harness, such as canvas or cloth, to mount a stiff housing with a heater for holding and heating fresh dialysis fluid. The harness includes straps or other suspending devices for holding a second, flexible housing for a drain bag for holding sent dialysis fluid. The upper portion of the system includes a hook and a load cell for suspending the remaining portions. The load cell is used to measure the weight of the apparatus. By keeping track of the weight and the changes, the quantity of fluid removed from the patient, spent dialysate, is tracked, as is fresh dialysate infused into the patient. An electronics or control portion controls heating of the fresh dialysate, and operation of pumps and valves for moving the dialysate. This portion also includes alarms and communications equipment.

摘要： A medical fluid pumping system includes a medical fluid pump; a first pressure chamber connected fluidly to the medical fluid pump; a second pressure chamber connected fluidly to the medical fluid pump; first and second pressure sensors connected operably to the first and second pressure chambers, respectively; and at least one processor operable with the pressure sensors to calculate a volume of gas in the medical fluid pump prior to a pump-out stroke using a reading from the first pressure sensor after exposing the pump to gas pressure from the first pressure chamber and to use the calculated volume of gas in combination with a known volume of the second pressure chamber and a pressure decay reading taken via the second pressure sensor during the pump-out stroke to calculate at least one volume of fluid pumped during the pump-out stroke.

The adjustments are made at the end of the drain, just prior to the next fill. The adjustments short the next fill, if necessary, to limit the intra-peritoneal volume, add a cycle, if necessary, to use all of the available dialysis solution and will average the remaining dwell time to maximize the therapeutic benefit of the therapy in the allotted time. In another embodiment, a tidal therapy using trended patient UF data is provided.
