摘要: Water intake structures for power plants and other industrial facilities may include an inflow channel, a deep well, an outflow channel, and an intake channel These structures may include a fish screen, such as a wedge-wire screen or the like, positioned between the deep well and the intake channel to separate fish, fish larvae and fish eggs from water supplied to the intake channel from the deep well. These structures may further include one or more circulating or sweep flow pumps positioned proximate an outlet of the outflow channel. The sweep flow pumps may be used to maintain a sweep flow through the deep well of the intake structure to help sweep fish, fish larvae and fish eggs away from the fish screen and into the outflow channel.

摘要: The print head of an electrographic printer is cleaned electrostatically. The printhead has a number of electrodes in an electrode array, which cooperate with a dielectric belt. Periodically, printing with the printer is interrupted (e.g. after every 100 pages of printing, or about every minute), and then substantially all of the electrodes are energized at the same time for a time period sufficient to effect burning off of contaminants from the electrodes (e.g. about the time it takes to print four pages, or about 3 seconds). A host computer controls the operation of the printer components. The printer developer unit may be moved away from the dielectric belt prior to the energization of all of the electrodes to effect cleaning.

摘要: An embodiment of the present invention takes the form of an application and process that incorporates an external heat source to increase the temperature of the airstream entering a compressor section of a combustion turbine. An embodiment of the present invention may perform an anti-icing operation that may not require an Inlet Bleed Heat system (IBH) to operate. An embodiment of the present invention may perform an anti-icing operation that may allow for the IGV angle to remain nearly constant. An embodiment of the present invention may increase the output and efficiency of a combustion turbine operating at partload by delaying IBH operation and delaying the closing IGVs.

摘要: High temperature thermal energy storage system comprised of solid-liquid phase change material that is fully encapsulated in helically grooved, sealed, thin-wall, metal tubes. Multitude of horizontally oriented, pressure-rated steam pipes or vessels filled with PCM tube capsules form a battery of thermal storage system. The steam pipes in the battery are connected through a common liquid-side distribution header system and a common steam-side distribution header system. Multitude of steam pipes stacked up to fill a block-shaped container space. This insulated enclosure provides the basis for simple fabrication, transport and filed-erection and forms the basic building block for a modular thermal storage system.
