    摘要: The present invention provides a cathode ray tube, comprising: a tensioned mask frame for supporting a tension mask inside the CRT at a cantilevered edge thereof, a tension mask mounted on the tension mask frame at the cantilevered edge; and an internal magnetic shield mounted on the tension mask frame. At least one of the tension mask and the internal magnetic shield have an extension extending along the tensioned mask frame to a point proximate or contacting the other of the tension mask and the internal magnetic shield to provide magnetic coupling between the tension mask and the internal magnetic shield independent of the tensioned mask frame.

    摘要: A system for dispensing a foamed aqueous emulsion is provided. The system is a foam-dispensing container and an aqueous emulsion of an oil component with improved foamability. The foamability is improved by including in the emulsion a polyol poly-12-hydroxystearate surfactant as an emulsifier. The aqueous emulsion contains polyol poly-12-hydroxystearate, an oil component, other surfactants and can contain UV protection factors, water and optionally other auxiliaries and additives.

    摘要: The structural health monitoring method of the present invention utilizes a sensor system to determine information about deformation, stress and/or damage in structural elements. The sensor system and the method employ at least one sensor which comprises a material having fully-reversible nonlinear elasticity. The method comprises associating at least one sensor including a material having fully-reversible nonlinear elasticity with a structural element in a manner whereby stress is transferred from said structural element to said sensor, propagating ultrasound through a portion of the sensor, receiving the ultrasound which has been propagated through at least a portion of the sensor and determining information about the structural element from attenuation and/or time of flight of said received ultrasound.

    摘要: An energy harvesting device for harvesting energy from a moving structure includes a housing allowing transmission of magnetic fields therethrough. A piezoelectric material capable of a phase transition and a magnetostrictive material capable of a structural change when subjected to a magnetic field are mechanically coupled to each other in the housing. An adjustable pre-stress means is positioned between the housing and the combination of the piezoelectric and magnetostrictive materials. Electrical contacts are positioned on the piezoelectric material. A magnet is mounted on the moving structure. The housing is mounted in sufficient proximity to the magnet for the magnetic field of the magnet to induce the structural change in the magnetostrictive material.

    摘要: A piezoelectric transducer includes a single crystal piezoelectric material having a phase transition from one crystalline phase to a second crystalline phase at a predetermined stress level. A pre-stress is applied to the single crystal piezoelectric material so that the material is maintained near its phase transition point. An electrical field source is joined to the material such that, in cooperation with the pre-stress, an increase or decrease in the electrical field causes a crystalline phase transition in the single crystal piezoelectric material. Crystalline phase transition induces strain larger by an order of magnitude than that caused by the non-phase transition piezoelectric effect.
