Abstract:
A covering (16) for an exterior rear view mirror assembly for motor vehicles includes a plurality of covering parts (17, 18, 19, 20) defining a contact point (24) between each of the plurality of covering parts (17, 18, 19, 20). At least one of the covering parts (17, 18, 19, 20) is provided in a two-component or multi-component injection molding procedure. A coating (25) of plastic forms an outer layer, which covers the covering parts (17, 18, 19, 20). The coating (25), being a light-resistant and transparent plastic, forms a high-gloss surface. One of the covering parts (17, 18, 19, 20) is void of the coating (25) at the contact point (24).

The device comprises an application device (40) for applying layers of the material in powder form (47) in the building area (5), which can be moved over the building area (5). The application device (40) is formed to have a first longitudinal wall (41a) and a second longitudinal wall (41b) that are connected to one another via two side walls. The application device (40) is provided with a fluidization device for homogenizing the material in powder form (47). This fluidization device comprises at least one hollow body having escape openings in its walls, through which escape opening a gas can flow from the hollow body into the material in powder form (47).
Abstract:
In an x-ray computed tomography apparatus and a method for conducting test measurements therein, a combined phantom is employed that is formed of several individual phantoms, each forming a segment of the combined phantom, and the combined phantom is affixed to a platform of the computed tomography apparatus that is movable with respect to an x-ray data acquisition unit of the computed tomography apparatus. The platform is moved into a first position and a first x-ray absorption distribution of a first segment of the combined phantom is obtained, and the platform is moved into a second position and a second x-ray absorption distribution is obtained of a second segment of the phantom. Movement of the platform and operation of the data acquisition unit for obtaining the first and second x-ray distributions are automatically controlled by a computer program.
Abstract:
A computed tomography unit includes a radiation detector with several detector elements, a data recording system for reading the electrical signals generated by the detector elements and the processing thereof to give raw data may be supplied via a data transmission path. The computed tomography unit further includes an analytical device for the automatic determination of the quality of the data recording system and/or of the data transmission path and optionally the radiation detector in addition. The analytical unit in particular initiates a measurement for the generation of raw data, calculates at least one value for at least one parameter which permits a quality determination therefrom and displays an analytical result, which incorporates the calculated value, on a display device.
Abstract:
In a rotating electrical machine having a permanent-magnet rotor, the tubular, highly thermally conductive supporting body of the stator forms a thermal bridge to a cooling means. In order to allow the end windings of the stator windings to be cooled effectively as well, the end windings also each have an associated thermal bridge, which completely fills the space between the end windings and the supporting body of the stator. This thermal bridge is of solid construction having a solid ring, which is connected to the supporting body of the stator with a force fit, and a cast-resin body which is cast into this solid ring. The cast-resin body has a thermal conductivity of more than 1.6 W/mK and, for this purpose, contains a powdery, highly thermally conductive filler making up a proportion of 50 to 90% by weight, preferably an aluminum nitride coated with silicon dioxide.

Abstract:
The aim of the invention is to create a cap, whose sealing behavior is identical to that of common PT sealing systems, wherein the amount of compound used is reduced, meeting current and future requirements related to the sealing of containers which are filled with foodstuffs. The invention relates to a method for forming a tight, sealing zone (10;10V,10D) which is provided with a compound (A,B) in a cap (1) made of a substantially metal material. Two methods for applying two compound layers are used successively, involving the application of a first compound (A) and a second compound (B), said compounds being different from each other. The two compound layers (A,B) extend in different geometrical areas (Area 2, Area 3) of the cap in the edge area (R) thereof with a tight and sealed area (10D,10V).
