Provided is a method of controlling a portable terminal having a projector module using a headset, which includes: receiving a command signal from the headset; determining whether the projector module is in an execution or driving state; recognizing the command signal as a signal for controlling the projector module, in case the projector module is in the driving state; and controlling the projector module according to the recognized signal.

A method of outputting screen data in a mobile terminal having a projector function includes: activating a projector module; generating screen data for a display unit displayed on a display unit and screen data for a projector based on the projector module; and performing dual-processing of the generated screen data and outputting the dual-processed screen data to the display unit and the projector module.

A method for processing a multi-touch input for a mobile device having a touch screen of a resistive overlay type which is normally incapable of recognizing a multi-touch input. A first data based on a first touch is displayed and a second touch is detected while the first touch is maintained. An intermediate data unexpectedly occurring between the first and second touches is treated as invalid data and removed when one of the first and second touches is released. Then a second data based on the second touch is displayed. This method makes it possible to properly recognize a multi-touch input through software-based technique, while reducing unexpected input errors caused by a multi-touch input and thus permitting a user's quick input action.

A mobile device has a projector module which projects data onto an external display screen. A method for displaying data in the mobile device includes activating the projector module and detecting output property information in at least one of content and an application. The method further includes determining a display format of output data of the content or the application based on the detected output property information. Also, the method includes projecting the output data in the determined display format through the activated projector module in a horizontal or vertical orientation. Such a display format may be changed according to a user's preference or a device presetting environment.
