摘要: A method for making a consolidated wood product comprising coating wood components with a B-stageable, phenol-formaldehyde resole resin; heating the coated wood components to about 80 to 140° C. for a time sufficient to advance the resin to a B-stage; forming a mat or stack of the wood components coated with the B-stage resin; exposing the mat or stack of coated wood components to a saturated or superheated steam atmosphere in a hot press; and compressing the layup to form the consolidated wood product. The phenol-formaldehyde resole resin used in the method has a number average molecular weight of between about 200 and 600, has a F:P mole ratio of about 1.3:1 to 2.0:1, and has been modified with 0 to about 5.5 wt % of caustic based on resin solids.

摘要: A multi-functional I/O card guide snap mounts to a mother board and houses a slidably removable I/O card for interfacing the I/O card with the mother board. The card guide includes a snap mountable daughter card for bridging the connection between the I/O card and the mother board. The card guide serves as a guide for accurately and easily slidably interfacing the I/O card with the daughter card, and serves as a connector for interfacing the I/O card and daughter card with the mother board. The card guide provides alignment accuracy between the I/O card and the interfacing daughter card connector because of a short tolerance path therebetween and inherent coplanar accuracy. Advantageously, no custom parts are required like conventional high rise connectors, and no extra mounting space or hardware is required like conventional backplane connector systems.

摘要: A method of using a phase change ink imaging device includes receiving an nth ink stick in an ink loader of a phase change ink imaging device where n is a predetermined number. The nth ink stick includes at least one sensor contour formed thereon. The at least one sensor contour is associated with an ink stick identifier. The at least one sensor contour on the nth ink stick is detected using a sensor system in the ink loader. At least one signal is generated based on the detection of the at least one sensor contour, the at least one signal being indicative of the ink stick identifier. The ink stick identifier indicated by the at least one signal is then stored as a designated ink stick identifier for use with the phase change ink imaging device.

摘要: The ‘K146-43’ rootstock is an inter-specific hybrid rootstock, useful primarily as a commercial understock for peach and nectarine cultivars. The stock has been successfully propagated clonally by hardwood cuttings. This rootstock imparts a substantial degree of vigor control to the scion cultivar that is propagated on top of it. The utilization of adapted growth controlling rootstocks in commercial orchard situations reduces the height of the individual orchard tree without compromising the quality of the fruit. This in turn increases the efficiency of various cultural operations such as pruning, thinning and harvesting by reducing the need for workers in the field to use tall ladders when carrying out these operations.

摘要: The ‘P30-135’ rootstock is an interspecific hybrid rootstock Prunus saliciana×P. persica, developed for use as a clonal commercial rootstock under peach and nectarine cultivars. Propagation of this stock has been successfully accomplished from hardwood cuttings. The ‘P30-135’ has the characteristic of imparting a substantial degree of vigor control to the scion cultivar that has been propagated upon it. This type of growth-controlling rootstock allows for the reduction of the height of orchard trees without compromising the quality of the fruit borne upon the tree. Size reduction of commercial orchard trees increases the efficiency of various cultural operations such as pruning, thinning and harvesting by reducing the need for workers in the field to carry and climb tall ladders.

摘要: There is provided an apparatus for conveying a media's size to a printing system. First there is a rotatable shaft. Several cams are formed around the shaft. Each cam has a lobe extending beyond the radius of the shaft. A number of levers, one for each cam, pivot about a pivot point and have a tab that is adjacent to a corresponding cam. An indicator wheel is also attached to the shaft. The indicator wheel has a first set of faces located around the circumference of the indicator wheel, where each face indicates a media size. The indicator wheel has another set of faces that indicate a second set of media sizes. Finally, there is a slidable lever positioned adjacent to the indicator wheel. When the slidable lever is in a first position, only media sizes in the first set are visible and the presently visible size is the size conveyed to the printing system. Similarly, when the slidable lever is in a second position, only media sizes in the second set are visible and the presently visible size is the size conveyed to the printing system.

摘要: A fuel and oil mixing device secured to and used with a fuel container storing a quantity of fuel includes an oil reservoir, a mixer body, an oil metering valve, and an adjustment knob. The oil reservoir stores oil, defines an orifice for oil to exit, and defines an orifice for fuel to pass through. The mixer body is secured to and in fluid communication with the oil reservoir for receiving oil and fuel. The oil metering valve is housed within the mixer body and defines a plurality of slots on an exterior surface thereof, each such slot controlling flow of oil into the mixer body. The adjustment knob is operably connected to the oil metering valve, such that manipulation of the adjustment knob effectively selects one of the slots, such that a mixture with a desired fuel-oil ratio can be dispensed.

摘要: A fuel and oil mixing device holds a quantity of fuel and oil and allows a user to easily select the ratio of fuel to oil in the mixture that exits the device, thus allowing a single device to be used to fill multiple two-stroke engines. The fuel and oil mixing device includes a mixing chamber defining an internal volume, a fuel intake opening, an oil intake opening, and an outlet. Fuel is delivered into the mixing chamber from the fuel reservoir through the fuel intake opening, while oil is delivered into the mixing chamber through the oil intake opening. An oil control valve controls oil flowing into the mixing chamber through the oil intake opening so as to allow the user to dispense a fuel-oil mixture through the outlet of the mixing chamber with a predetermined fuel-to-oil ratio.

摘要: A system for automatically cleaning toner build-up on a roller, such as the fuser pressure roller in an electrophotographic printing device, using the duplexing capability of the device. One embodiment is a method for cleaning a roller in an image forming device. The method includes the steps of: feeding a sheet of print media into the simplex paper path; printing a cleaning pattern on one side of the sheet; routing the sheet through the duplex paper path to invert the sheet; and routing the inverted sheet back through the simplex paper path. When the image forming device includes a fuser, such as with a laser printer, a toner image cleaning pattern is applied to the paper or other sheet media, the toner is fused to the paper, the paper is then routed through a duplexer and back through the fuser. When the cleaning page is fed into the image forming device the second time, it goes through the device with the printed side down. As it passes through the fuser, the toner that makes up the cleaning pattern becomes tacky. The tacky toner cleans the pressure roller as the roller comes in contact with the printed side of the page.
