Abstract:
A waterfall apparatus for producing an artificial waterfall having a waterfall apparatus including a chamber, an inlet for water into the waterfall apparatus, a primary outlet having an opening to allow water to flow out of the waterfall apparatus in a waterfall configuration, an attachment means for attaching the waterfall apparatus to a sidewall of a spa; and a removable baffle means located between the inlet and the outlet for more evenly distributing the water flowing out of the waterfall apparatus.
Abstract:
A method for allowing access to data frames on an elevator communications bus includes (a) disconnecting a remote station 117 from the communication bus 24; (b) connecting the elevator communications bus 24 to the elevator communications bus analyzer 100; (c) providing the power, return, clock, and data signals on lines 46a, 46b, 48a, 48b from the elevator communications bus analyzer 100 to the remote station 117 previously disconnected; (d) connecting receive or transmit trigger lines 120, 122 from the elevator communications bus analyzer 100 to an oscilloscope 24; (e) selecting an address of a remote station; (f) connecting clock and data signals on lines 46a, 46b to the oscilloscope 124; and (g) switching the oscilloscope 124 to its differential mode to provide on an oscilloscope screen the difference between the clock and data signals (the signal on line 46b minus the signal on line 46a) for the address so that an elevator mechanic may see the data bits on the elevator communications bus.

Device, method, and computer program product for monitoring the social health of a persistent virtual environment. The disclosed technology monitors social interactions between subscribers of on-line entities who have interactions related to the persistent virtual environment.
Abstract:
Device, method, and computer program product that provides a user interface for monitoring the social health of a persistent virtual environment. The disclosed technology allows a user to monitor and diagnose the health of the persistent virtual environment based on the social interactions between subscribers of on-line entities who have interactions related to the persistent virtual environment.
Abstract:
A waterfall waterjet that can be attached to a spa, with at least one chamber, at least one primary outlet, at least one debris outlet that can be opened and closed, and a water source fluidly connected to the waterfall waterjet.
Abstract:
A process for the separation of a mineral acid from a common ion salt comprises a step of flowing a quantity of the mineral acid and salt in aqueous solution onto a strong base common ion form anion exchange resin bed whereon the mineral acid is retarded with respect to the salt. The salt is removed from the anion exchange resin. An interface cut of the mineral acid and the salt is recirculated from a bottom portion to a top portion of the anion exchange resin for further separation. A quantity of water is flowed through the anion exchange resin bed to elute the mineral acid therefrom. A portion of the elutant fluid is recycled to the top of the anion exchange resin bed.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for converting the 35 mm image from a conventional fundus camera into a size suitable for recording by a conventional solid state CCD module. The CCD camera connects to the fundus camera using a bayonet attachment. The aerial image created by the fundus camera is received and transmitted through the CCD camera along a folded mirror optical path, and is reduced and aligned for detection by the CCD module. The optical path contains a pair of adjustable mirrors to allow compensation for variations in the focal lengths between various fundus cameras. An articulating mirror may be included to enable the user to pan across the aerial image while recording segmented views for reconstruction by an external computer into a composite, high resolution image.
Abstract:
Several cell casings forming compartments for receiving battery cells made from resin filled with fiberglass are integrally joined together using resin and fiberglass to form an inner boxlike structure having compartments separated by partitions which is inserted into an outer boxlike structure made from the same material. The resultant battery tray is of a unitary construction having dimensionally stably and uniform partitions. The polyester resin and fiberglass are laid up in such a manner as to resist bending of the tray along its length when it is lifted from the ends thereof. This is accomplished in part by providing thicker walls along the length of the tray than the partition walls transverse to the length of the tray.
Abstract:
Entertainment system including movie projection apparatus having enlarged film storage capacity, whereby multiple full length movies may be stored and shown in any sequence, and which is constructed as a unit for installation and use in passenger carriers such as aircraft, or in other places where space is limited.
Abstract:
An adjustable louver blade assembly including a number of horizontally extending, movable louver blades (22). Each of the blades is formed in a generally hollow airfoil shaped cross section having a leading edge and a trailing edge. Trips (46,48) for inducing turbulent flow of the boundary layer are embossed on the blade surfaces. Reinforcing spacer ribbons (42) are frictionally secured within each blade to rigidize the blade. The pivotal axis of each blade is located so that the axis is forward of the center of aerodynamic force exerted on the blade for all attitudes of the blade between a closed position and a position about 60.degree. from the closed position. A control rod (26) is connected to each of the louver blades so that all of the blades can be simultaneously swung to any attitude between fully open and fully closed. Each of the blades has chevron shaped slits (60) with inwardly bent tabs near the trailing and leading edges of the blade to guide water on the surface of the blade into the hollow blade. Water is discharged from exit ports (47) at the blade end into open vertical channels (82) in the side frames which conduct water to hollow corner conduits (84) for discharge.
