    摘要: A low cost, light projection and sensing system that projects an image onto a display surface using an array of light emitters. Further, the device has an integral sensing capability of the display surface using light sensors. Both the emitters and sensors are coupled to a control unit. Whereby, the device can modify the light-projected image and sensor view region with its control unit. The device can also project an animated overlaid image or large tiled image of photographic resolution. In operation, the device can determine the position and range of a remote object, along with illuminating its touch sensitive housing with a projected image.

    摘要: A mosaic movie resembling a target movie is composed of movies from a data base. The target movie is divided into tile regions of a specified size and shape, and the individual movies from the data base are compared to each region to find the best matching tile. The comparison is performed by calculating a figure of visual difference between each tile and each region. The data base of tile images is created from raw source movie using digital image processing, whereby multiple instances of each individual raw source movie are produced. Tile matching is performed such that all raw source movies are represented in the final mosaic. The digital image processing involves the adjustment of colour, brightness and contrast of tile movies, as well as cropping. A movie description index locates each movie in the final mosaic.

    摘要: A plurality of projectors are positioned in spaced relationship about an object with a surface to be geometrically analyzed. The projectors have cooperating masks which project onto the object illuminated patterns that subdivide the object into predetermined sections. Each mask has a predetermined pattern of sections, and is applied in sequence. The masks are cooperatively illuminated in the projectors, with a separate pattern prevailing on the object each time that a separate mask is illuminated. The combinations of the patterns on the masks define closely-spaced sections subdividing the object. The patterns are coded so that each section is uniquely defined in coded form. Cameras having the entire object within their field of view, photograph the object each time a separate mask is illuminated. The patterns or sections are generated by parallel lines projected through a mask onto the object.

    摘要: A series of film-containing cassettes are placed in projecting positions and thereafter in rewinding positions. First and second take-up reels are arranged to be axially movable between first and second positions. An elongate film guide member is movable between an active position in which the guide defines a straight threading path between the cassette occupying the projecting position and the take-up reel occupying the first position and a normally inactive position in which the guide is clear of the threading path. In the film threading mode, the leading end of film is driven through the straight threading path and taken up by the take-up reel. A film handling mechanism is provided between the opposite ends of the threading path. Upon completion of film threading, the movable elongate guide is restored to the inactive position and the film handling mechanism is brought into operation to engage the film with an aperture plate. Upon completion of film projection, the cassette and the first take-up reel which occupy the projecting and first positions, respectively, are shifted to the rewinding and second positions, respectively. A subsequent cassette is shifted to the projecting position and the second take-up reel occupies the first position. Film threading of the subsequent film cassette is effected simultaneously with rewinding of the previous cassette.

    摘要: The housing of a projector for use with cassettes for convoluted motion picture film defines a channel for lengthwise movement of shorter or longer trays which store stacks of cassettes. A blocking lever normally extends into the path of lengthwise movement of an inserted tray to arrest the tray in a starting position one step ahead of that position in which the foremost cassette in the tray is located in a projection position. The blocking lever is automatically moved away from the path of the inserted tray when the transporting mechanism which serves to move the tray lengthwise is operated in the starting position of the tray. The housing carries a pawl which engages a toothed portion of the inserted tray to prevent its movement in the rearward direction. The tray carries a pusher which causes the blocking lever to open a switch in the electric circuit of the projector when the transporting mechanism advances the tray beyond the starting position through such a distance that the rearmost cassette in a filled tray is moved beyond the projection position.

    摘要: A motion picture projector for use with magazines containing stacks of cassettes for motion picture film. The housing of the projector supports two coaxial takeup reels one of which assumes a collecting position and collects the film which is being withdrawn from a cassette in a projection position while the other takeup reel assumes a withdrawing position and pays out the film whose presentation is completed and which is being returned to the corresponding cassette. The takeup reels are caused to change positions in response to detection of the trailing portion of the film which is being presented, and such change in positions of the takeup reels take place simultaneously with a stepwise advance of the magazine so as to place a fresh cassette into the projection position while the preceding cassette assumes a position in which a rewinding mechanism rewinds onto its supply reel that film which is stored on the core of the takeup reel occupying the withdrawing position.
