Abstract:
A cellular telephone protocol adaptive printing system includes a mobile device protocol logic configured to transmit a print job from a cellular telephone to an image forming device, pursuant to a print data transmission protocol; and a content transforming logic configured to process a print item into the print job pursuant to the print data transmission protocol supported by the mobile device protocol logic.
Abstract:
System and method for touch sensitive surface provide detection and tracking of multiple touch points on the surface by using two independent arrays of orthogonal linear capacitive sensors.
Abstract:
An imaging device utilizes click count fragmentation to provide separate click counts for service and billing purposes. Click count fragmentation maintains uninterrupted service counts and derives from service counts billing counts that more accurately reflect the number of pages generated that are usable by a customer. Billing counts may be paused, resumed, reset and displayed by authorized personnel via a local or remote imaging device interface. Accesses of billing counts by authorized personnel may be recorded in an audit trail.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for customized remote access to imaging node front panels offer improvements in the areas of unified access, on-screen viewing and comprehension of front panels delivered by diverse imaging nodes to remote client nodes. The imaging nodes may be diverse, for example, in terms of message formats used to deliver front panel data, screen resolution assumptions implicit in front panel data and languages in which front panel data are delivered. Customization is provided, in some embodiments, by a server node that intermediates between the imaging nodes and the client nodes.
Abstract:
A method and system for firmware updating for one or more electronic devices connected on a user network. A management gateway may be connected on the network, configured to control all firmware update activity for the one or more electronic devices. In an exemplary application, the electronic devices may be multifunction peripheral devices. An electronically accessible firmware repository for storing firmware updates is maintained. The management gateway may establish a firmware update activity schedule for each electronic device.

Abstract:
A secure system for user authentication comprised of an authentication interface having a character dial and alignment markers is provided. A passcode input module receives user commands to move the character dial with respect to the alignment markers and to record a configuration of the characters with respect to the alignment markers, thereby creating alignment configuration data. A passcode generation module receives at least one of said alignment configuration data from passcode input module and generates a plurality of passcode hypotheses. An authentication module receives the passcode hypotheses and compares the passcode hypotheses with the passcodes of registered users stored in a data store. The passcode hypotheses are updated after each new alignment configuration data entered by the user. The authentication module authenticates a user upon finding a passcode hypothesis matching a stored passcode.
Abstract:
X-axis and Y-axis sensor arrays detect hand motion. The array data are processed by a trained model gesture recognizer to discriminate between grab and touch gestures. Touch gestures are further processed using touch point classifier, Hidden Markov Model and peak detector to discriminate between single point touch and multiple point touch. A Kalman tracker analyzes the trajectories of the X and Y axis data to determine how to associate X and Y axis data into ordered pairs corresponding to the touch points. The system resolves ambiguities inherent in certain sensor arrays and will also detect grab and drop gestures where the detected hand is sometimes out of sensor range during the gestural sequence.
Abstract:
Techniques are described for managing one or more electronic devices connected on a network. A central management system may be configured to control firmware rollback activity for the devices. The central management system may in some embodiments also rollback configuration settings. In another embodiment, a central management system may perform device cloning activities.
