Abstract:
A side air bag for a vehicle occupant restraint system of a motor vehicle is provided. The side air bag comprising at least one inflatable chamber, having a first area to protect the head of a vehicle occupant as well as a second area which—referring to the state of the side air bag (in which it is installed in the vehicle and inflated—extends in the direction of the vehicle floor beyond a door parapet which is adjacent to a side window of the vehicle. The chamber is designed in such a way that it tapers off from the first towards the second area.
Abstract:
A gas bag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraint system of a motor vehicle. The gas bag arrangement comprising a gas bag package which includes a folded gas bag and a wrapping which at least partly surrounds the folded gas bag, at least one connecting strap for connecting the gas bag to a holding structure of the motor vehicle, wherein the connecting strap is attached to a fastening portion of the gas bag and a deflection device arranged at the wrapping or formed by the wrapping, at which the connecting strap—relative to the condition of the gas bag arrangement as mounted in the vehicle—is deflected in direction of the holding structure. A section of the connecting strap coming from the fastening portion extends up to the deflection device away from the holding structure and at the deflection device again is deflected towards the holding structure.

Abstract:
An airbag for a vehicle occupant restraint system for a motor vehicle is provided. The airbag comprising at least one first and at least one second fastening component to attach the airbag to a vehicle body. The second fastening component is attached in such a way that—in relation to the deflated, flat outspread state of the airbag—it is offset from the first fastening component in a perpendicular direction to the main extension direction of the airbag. A first section of the airbag that stretches to a side of the second fastening component facing away from the first fastening component, is folded by means of a first fold in the form of a rolled fold and a second section of the airbag that extends to a side of the second fastening component facing the first fastening component by means of a second fold different from a rolled fold.
