摘要： An additive mixture useful as a flame retardant is described. The mixture is comprised of (i) a poly(bromophenyl)alkane having in the molecule in the range of 13 to 60 carbon atoms and in the range of two to four aryl groups and (ii) a poly(bromophenyl)bromoalkane having in the molecule in the range of 13 to 60 carbon atoms and in the range of two to four aryl groups, said poly(bromophenyl)bromoalkane being in an amount which is greater than 25 wt %, based on the total weight of the additive mixture. A facile process for making the poly(bromophenyl)bromoalkane is also described.

摘要： An ester oil which lacks complete miscibility with fluorohydrocarbons has its miscibility with fluorohydrocarbons refrigerants improved by blending it with a second ester oil composed of molecules corresponding to the formula ROOC--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -[(ROOC)CHCH.sub.2 ].sub.m --C(COOR).sub.2 --[CH.sub.2 CH(COOR)].sub.n --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 COOR wherein the R's represent alkyl groups of 1-30 carbons, at least 10% of which are alkyl groups of 1-4 carbons; and each of m and n represents zero or a positive integer such that the sum of m and n in a molecule is 0-30.

摘要： A locking fastener assembly is disclosed for securing electronic equipment or the like to a mounting bracket. The device includes a stud assembly comprising a threaded shank portion for passing through an opening in the bracket, and being threadingly received in an opening at the equipment. An enlarged head adjoining the shank has a pair of openings for receiving engaging pins from a cooperating tool. An annular freely rotatable collar surrounds the head and projects to at least cover the rim of the head, to prevent grasping of such head by a tool. A tool member is provided having a face opposable to the head, the face including a pair of engaging pins having a spacing and arrangement with respect to the tool face center which is in mirror correspondence to the spacing and arrangement of the openings on the head of the stud assembly, whereby the pins may engage with the openings in the head to permit application of torque for tightening and loosening the stud assembly. The tool member is therefore keyed to engage with the head portion; i.e. a similar tool which is unkeyed to the pattern of head openings will not be operable to engage with the stud assembly.

摘要： An environmentally friendly invert drilling fluid comprises a water-in-oil emulsion which includes (a) at least 50 volume percent of a low toxicity base oil, and (b) at least one additive selected from the group consisting of emulsifiers, viscosifiers, weighting agents, oil wetting agents and fluid loss preventing agents, at least about 25 volume percent of the base oil content of the drilling fluid being one or more linear alpha-olefins which have from about 14 to 30 carbon atoms.

摘要： A locking fastener assembly is disclosed for securing electronic equipment or the like to a mounting bracket. The device includes a stud assembly comprising a threaded shank portion for passing through an opening in the bracket, and being threadingly received in an opening at the equipment. An enlarged head adjoins the shank and has a plurality of openings for receiving engaging pins from a cooperating tool. The spatial pattern of the openings (e.g. a spiral) define a plurality of different spacings between pairs of the openings. An annular freely rotatable collar surrounds the head and projects to at least cover the rim of the head, to prevent grasping of such head by a tool. A tool member is provided having a face opposable to the head, the face including a plurality of openings in a pattern corresponding to that on the head. A pair of engaging pins are secured within a pair of openings in the tool member, whereby by overlying the pattern on the tool member with the corresponding pattern on the head, the pair of pins may engage with corresponding openings in the head to permit application of torque for tightening and loosening the stud assembly. The operator may set or encode the fastener assembly by inserting the engaging pins at a selected pair of the openings in the tool member, and closing all openings on the head with a filler material except for the pair of openings alignable with the selected pair at the tool member. Accordingly only a tool member similarly set or encoded will be operable to engage with the head portion.
