    摘要: An electrical filter having first and second filter sections with respective sets of electrical filter components. These sets of electrical filter components include primary tuning coils which are arranged parallel to a reference axis. An electrical isolation shield is disposed on a reference plane between the first and second filter sections for electrically isolating the sections from one another, the reference plane being orthogonal to the reference axis. The unique configuration of the filter sections allows for the filter sections to be independently tuned while being physically and electrically isolated from one another. The filter sections are then coupled to one another both physically and electrically subsequent to the tuning operation.

    摘要: A filter circuit is provided having multipath interference mitigation. The filter includes a signal path extending from an input to an output. The signal path includes a conductive path and a ground. A pass band filter is disposed along the signal path between the input and the output. The pass band filter passes a first frequency spectrum in a provider bandwidth, and attenuates a second frequency spectrum in a home network bandwidth. The filter circuit further includes a multipath interference mitigation leg operatively branched from the signal path. The multipath interference mitigation leg increases a return loss of the home network bandwidth. A frequency response of the filter circuit is characterized by an insertion loss characteristic between the input and the output being less than 3 dB in the provider bandwidth, and more than 20 dB in the home network bandwidth. The frequency response is further characterized by a return loss characteristic at the output being more than 10 dB in the provider bandwidth and home network bandwidth.

    摘要: An integrated seal assembly is provided, as is a coaxial cable system component incorporating the seal assembly with a connector for coupling to an externally threaded port. The seal assembly includes a bellows-type seal formed at least partially of a conductive elastomer and having an elastically deformable tubular body and a plurality of sealing surfaces, and an integral joint-section intermediate an anterior end and a posterior end that assists in the axial deformation of the seal in response to axially-directed force. One of the sealing surfaces engages a corresponding surface of an internally threaded nut or housing. The component is engagable with an externally threaded port via the internally threaded connector. The anterior end of the seal fits over the port and a sealing surface of the seal is capable of sealing axially against a shoulder of the port while the seal body covers the otherwise exposed externally threaded port. Upon tightening of the nut on the port, the seal deflects in the axial direction to accommodate a variety of distances between the connector and the shoulder of the port. Additionally, the seal is capable of expanding to allow a second sealing surface to contact and seal against a variety of smooth outside diameters of the port. The versatility of the seal allows an operator to use one connector of a system component on a wide variety of externally threaded ports without the risk of a faulty seal at the connection or a poor connection due to an improper seal.

    摘要: A filter assembly includes a printed circuit board having a filtering circuit and a ground plane. A body receives the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board has at least one tab, and the body has a respective slot for receiving each tab, aligning the printed circuit board with the body. The body is shaped so as to provide a first cable connector at one end. The ground plane of the printed circuit board is connected to an inner wall of the body by solder. A nut fits on an end of the body opposite the cable connector of the body. The nut provides a second cable connector at an end opposite the first cable connector. The nut is connected to the body by solder along a periphery of the nut to form a water tight seal. The solder joining the nut to the body is continuous with the solder connecting the ground plane to the body. A pair of terminals are electrically connected at opposite ends of the printed circuit board. Each of the terminals has a slot sized to receive a respective end of the printed circuit board and may form a friction fit between the printed circuit board and the terminals.

    摘要: A filter assembly includes a printed circuit board having a filtering circuit and a ground plane. A body receives the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board has at least one tab, and the body has a respective slot for receiving each tab, aligning the printed circuit board with the body. The body is shaped so as to provide a first cable connector at one end. The ground plane of the printed circuit board is connected to an inner wall of the body by solder. A nut fits on an end of the body opposite the cable connector of the body. The nut provides a second cable connector at an end opposite the first cable connector. The nut is connected to the body by solder along a periphery of the nut to form a water tight seal. The solder joining the nut to the body is continuous with the solder connecting the ground plane to the body. A pair of terminals are electrically connected at opposite ends of the printed circuit board. Each of the terminals has a slot sized to receive a respective end of the printed circuit board and may form a friction fit between the printed circuit board and the terminals.

The apparatus can comprise a signal path from a supplier-side port thru a user-side port, a signal source arranged to provide a signal to the conductor; and a signal circuit arranged in the interruptible signal path. The apparatus can determine when the signal path is unterminated and, in that case, interrupt and terminate the signal path by putting a signal switching device in the appropriate state and/or sending signals from the signal path to a prescribed signal level connection point. When a user device is not connected or connected improperly, or the signals through the signal path are otherwise unterminated, the interruptible signal path can be interrupted and terminated. The method and apparatus embodiments can be used in various combinations with multiple signal paths having multiple signal branches.
