A fuser stripping subsystem for use with a fusing system is provided. In one embodiment, at least one movable stripper finger is disposed adjacent a fusing assembly in a first position. Assuming a selected condition is met, the at least one movable stripper finger is moved from the first position to a second position for substantially aligning the at least one movable stripper finger with a toned image section of a print media sheet passing through a nip defined by the rolls. In another embodiment, a print media sheet with a toned image section is shifted, prior to feeding the same through the nip, so that the toned image section may be substantially aligned with at least one stripper finger. In yet another embodiment, a combination of stripper finger movement and/or image shifting may be used to obtain substantial alignment between one or more stripper fingers and an image.

Systems and methods of registering a sheet in an image reproduction, e.g., a xerographic, device use sheet parameters regardless of the tray or bin with which the sheets are associated, separate tallies of sheet registration correction factors for both sides of a sheet, and use registration errors detected on a first side of a sheet to generate correction factors concerning proper registration of the second side of that sheet. In embodiments, the systems and methods average registration errors for one particular side of a plurality of sheets to obtain a dampened error signal that is taken into account for registration of subsequent sheets on each respective sheet side. In embodiments, the systems and methods determine variations between actual and target system performance to affect subsequent sheet flow and registration.

An automobile jack stand having four sides that substantially form a pyramid. Extending from the pyramid is a telecopying support. The telescoping support is attached to a curved horizontal support arm which is the primary point for support. Extending outward from two sides are small support arms which are equipped with light sockets. The light sockets rotate from a horizontal position to a vertical position. The lights are connected to a battery located in the base of the jack and the battery is connected to a electrical cord capable of connecting to an electrical out. The electrical cord functions to recharge the battery.

Systems and methods of registration system control are provided that compensate for differences in physical properties of various substrates being transported through the system that impact velocity of the substrate. Exemplary systems of the Invention include at least one roll pair formed by a first, driven roll and a second roll defining a nip therebetween that is part of the transport path through which a substrate is passed. A prestored lookup table includes empirically-derived compensation factors for plural different kinds of substrates, with each compensation factor being based on physical characteristics of the substrate that impact displacement and velocity of the substrate along the transport path, such as the substrate's mass per unit area, which has been found to have a strong correlation with detected deviations in linear travel displacement and velocity. Upon input or determination of the substrate being registered, the system adjusts the drive profile of the drive roll by the compensation factor. This is preferably by substituting a derived effective drive roll radius value for the actual drive roll radius value in the drive control profile to correspond to the substrate being transported. A suitable compensation factor compensates for both the angular velocity of the drive roll and the amount of angular rotation so that the linear velocity of the substrate and the travel path length of the substrate are appropriated compensated.

A multi-host subscriber loop (10, 70) includes N central office terminals (22-26, 78) coupled to a local exchange (20, 76), where one of the N central office terminals (22, 110) is directly coupled to all other central office terminals (24-26, 112-114). M remote terminals (40-46, 100-104) are coupled to a plurality of telephone service subscribers. A single network facility (16, 76) is coupled between the M remote terminals and N central office terminals. The single network facility concentrates subscriber traffic, control information and associated signaling onto one message structure (60, 140). Messages in this message structure are transmitted between the remote terminals and central office terminals. The message structure includes a plurality of time slots, a first predetermined number of the time slots being allocated to N control channels, at least one time slot being allocated to associated signaling, and remaining time slots being allocated to subscriber traffic.

An apparatus (100) and method (200) that senses photoreceptor failure in a xerographic printing apparatus is disclosed. The xerographic printing apparatus can include a rotatable photoreceptor (110) having a photoreceptor surface (111), a cleaning device (124) for removing marking material from the photoreceptor, and a printing apparatus controller (150) that controls operations of the xerographic printing apparatus. The method can include charging (220) the photoreceptor surface to a fixed voltage. The method can include discharging (230) at least a portion of the charged photoreceptor surface to an exposed voltage. The method can include developing (240) the discharged portion of the photoreceptor surface by providing a cleaning field between the charged photoreceptor surface fixed voltage and a developing bias voltage. The method can include reducing (250) the cleaning field. The method can include generating (260) a developed image on the photoreceptor using the reduced cleaning field. The method can include scanning (270) the developed image after reducing the cleaning field, where the developed image can be scanned using a sensor to generate a scanned image.

A prestored lookup table includes empirically- or theoretically-derived compensation factors for plural different kinds of substrates, with each compensation factor being based on physical characteristics of the substrate that impact actual travel length of the substrate along the transport path, such as the substrate's mass per unit area, which has been found to have a strong correlation with a substrate's bending stiffness, which has been found to have a strong correlation with detected deviations in linear travel path. Upon input or determination of the substrate being registered, the system adjusts the drive profile of the drive roll by the compensation factor. This is preferably by adding the derived paper path length adjusting value to the actual nominal length between the drive roll pair and a desired registration position to take into account an arcuate or non-linear travel path due to flexure of the substrate. A suitable compensation factor compensates for the amount of angular rotation of the drive roll so that the travel path length of the substrate is appropriated compensated.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel method and apparatus for rotating a stripper bar associated with a paper path. A cam and cable mechanism replaces a rigid link mechanism on the stripper bar, the cam and cable mechanism providing for a much greater angle of rotation of the stripper bar than the rigid link mechanism. The additional rotation allows the stripper fingers on the stripper bar to be rotated completely out of the way of a paper jam clearance path. Other new developments include a wrench positioning system that controls the orientation of the stripper bar and an over-rotation prevention system that stops the rotation of the stripper bar when the stripper bar and stripper fingers are being serviced.
