A method, system and medium are provided for automatically routing an incoming call to one active wireless-telecommunications device of a set of devices associated with a single wireless-telecommunications-network subscriber. A proximity-based relationship is created between a primary device and a nonprimary device. Upon receiving an indication that the primary device is within a threshold proximity of the nonprimary device, a request is communicated to the network to associate a set of user credentials of the primary device and a set of hardware credentials of the primary device with the nonprimary device. The nonprimary device is thereby activated so that it can receive an incoming call. The primary device is deactivated so that the subscriber can only receive an incoming call on one device at a time.

The method comprises identifying common mobile phone applications and selectively supported mobile phone applications, installing the common mobile phone applications and the selectively supported mobile phone applications in read only memory of the mobile phone, each of the selectively supported applications associated with a selection switch initially disabled. The method further comprises, when activating the mobile phone, enabling at least one of the selection switches and writing at least one reference to branded content to a random access memory of the mobile phone based on a service plan associated with the mobile phone.

The method includes inventorying information about each of a plurality of legacy servers and each of a plurality of applications, wherein the inventory information identifies the one or more applications installed on each of the legacy servers. The method includes defining a maximum number K of applications to migrate during a wave from the legacy servers to a plurality of preferred servers. The method also includes selecting a number Q of applications to migrate during the wave from the legacy servers to the preferred servers, where Q is less than or equal to K. The method further includes installing the Q applications on the preferred servers, and retiring the legacy servers whose applications have been migrated to the preferred server.

Upon a client encountering an error while operating a self-service application for changing services in a wireless device, the client can queue themselves to speak with a customer care center representative. Data collected from the client through the self-service application is transferred to a customer care system to provide the customer care representative with application state information including which step in the application the customer requires assistance with. Upon the customer care representative successfully assisting the customer the wireless device continues on to the next step in the self-service application. When all of the steps in the self-service application are complete or upon completion of each step, the data collected is transferred to the customer care system and used to update the necessary systems to implement the change in service.
