    摘要: An electrical connector for use with providing an electrical termination to an end of a cable having a conductor helically disposed between a core and a layer overlying the core. The connector includes a first portion having an opening sized greater than a diameter defined by the helically disposed conductor but less than a diameter of the layer. A second portion has an opening sized greater than a diameter defined by the helically disposed conductor. A third portion is configured to receive a conductor of a second cable. As a result of the end of the cable being sufficiently inserted through the opening of the first portion, the helically disposed conductor is exposed about a length of the cable extending through another side of the first portion and received in the opening of the second portion.

The receptacle is mechanically secured to a solar array. The mechanical connection between the receptacle and the solar array may be a staking process (e.g., ultrasonic, heat). The plug and receptacle may be locking, where only an extraction tool or other similar device may remove the plug from the receptacle. The plug and receptacle may also be non-locking.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to an electrical connector 10 having a housing 12 with at least one electrical contact 22 positioned therein. The electrical contact 22 is adapted for electrical engagement with an electrical wire 42 to be positioned within the housing 12. A spring 16 has a fixed end 17 and a free end 18, the fixed end 17 of the spring 16 is used to secure the spring 16 in the housing 12. The free end 18 of the spring 16 is positioned adjacent a tool opening 20 formed in the housing 12. The free end 18 of the spring 16 is adapted to be directly engaged by a tool 13 to be inserted through the tool opening 20 in the housing 12. The free end 18 of the spring 16 further comprises a plurality of retention tabs 35, 36, 37 formed thereon that are adapted for engaging the tool 13 when the tool 13 is inserted into the housing 12 to deflect the spring 16 and thereby allow the insertion of an electrical wire 42 into the connector 10 adjacent the electrical contact 22.

    摘要: A wire grounding assembly including a unitary bidirectional connector having a first threaded shaft, a second threaded shaft, and a torque-receiving portion that is radially oriented about the major axis of the unitary bidirectional connector and that has a first radial surface and an opposing second radial surface. The first threaded shaft and the second threaded shaft project, respectively, from the first radial surface and the second radial surface, and are aligned such that their respective major axes coincide with the major axis. The first threaded shaft has an axial ground wire slot configured to receive a ground wire therein, and the second threaded shaft has a base. The unitary bidirectional connector has an annular sharp projection that projects beyond the plane of the second radial surface, encircling the base, and is configured to penetrate a non-conductive surface of a ground upon application of sufficient torque to the torque-receiving portion.
