摘要:
A portable, hand-held, non-contact surface measuring system comprises an image capturing element, at least four projectable reference elements positioned parallel to one another at known locations around the image capturing element, a processing unit, and a user interface. The invention further discloses a method for the noncontact surface measurement comprising projecting at least four references onto a target surface, capturing an image of the targeted surface and the projected references with the image transferring device, transferring the image to a processing unit, processing the image using triangulation-based computer vision techniques to correct for skew and to obtain surface measurement data, transferring the data to the user interface, modifying the data with the user interface. The systems and methods for the measurement of surfaces can be applied to the measurement of biological surfaces, such as skin, wounds, lesions, and ulcers.

The invention is CDMA quadrature signal technology that controls the transmit power of a CDMA signal. The CDMA quadrature signal technology receives a CDMA signal, and in response, process quadrature components of the CDMA signal to generate a power control signal. The CDMA quadrature signal technology adjusts the gain of the CDMA signal in response to the power control signal. A CDMA transmitter transmits the CDMA signal after the gain is adjusted. One example of the CDMA transmitter is a CDMA base station. Using the invention, a multi-sector CDMA base station can control power without transferring gain information to base station components for all sectors. The invention eliminates unnecessary data transfer and storage.

The present invention provides methods and compositions for detecting and correcting errors in nucleic acid amplification processes, and methods for using the same. In particular, barcode amplification errors are detected and corrected such that integrity in sample assignment is maintained. The methods are compatible with high throughput sequencing techniques as some of the barcodes are based upon Hamming codes, thereby allowing self-correction for single bit errors. Some methods and compositions of the invention allow characterization (e.g., sequencing) of a plurality of nucleic acid samples simultaneously within a single sequencing reaction.
