    摘要: This invention concerns an epoxy coating for use as a non-skid surface for applications such as the deck of an aircraft carrier. The epoxy coating can be formulated from (a) an amine curing agent, (b) an epoxide-containing toughening agent such as a polysulfide and/or a polythioether, (c) an epoxy resin, (d) a rubber toughening agent, and (e) an optional fire retardant, a glass fiber thixotrope and impact toughening agent, an optional pigment, an optional corrosion inhibitor, an optional moisture penetration inhibitor, an optional ultraviolet light stabilizer, an optional abrasive aggregate, or a combination thereof.

    摘要: Metal surfaces treated with non-conductive metal oxides having enhanced non-conductive characteristics are disclosed. Durability and bond strength to polymer and metal surfaces is improved relative to non-treated metal surfaces. Methods of using metal surfaces with at least one non-conductive metal oxide coating in marine and under water applications are also described wherein cathodic delamination at the metal surface and a polymer is reduced, thus increasing the relative useful life of devices whose metal surfaces have been so treated. Methods for increasing bond strength and adhesiveness between metal surfaces wherein the metal surface is treated to include a metal oxide coat, such as a mixture of aluminum oxide and titanium oxide, are also described. The non-conductive metal oxide, or other non-conductive metal nitrides, carbides, borides or fluorides, coatings include at least about 20% to about 100% of the non-conductive metal oxide.

    摘要: Improved compositions containing a visible coloring agent, such as a pigment or dye, together with a polymer or hydroxylated aliphate alcohol, and an active ingredient defined as a surfactant, a therapeutic agent or biocide, are disclosed. The detectable agent is readily visible under normal white light, and provides a technique for monitoring disturbed and undisturbed areas on a surface. Such is useful in the described methods for cleaning and/or decontaminating a surface, such as in the decontamination of equipment and clothing used during hazardous spill response. The compositions are adherent to a variety of different materials, including Teflon.RTM.. This makes the preparations particularly useful in the cleaning and decontamination of non-flat and curved surfaces, such as on protective garments. The compositions in particular embodiments include a visually detectable coloring agent (such as a colored pigment), a surfactant (such as ethoxylate alcohol), an emulsifier (such as carboxymethyl cellulose), an extender (such as PEG), and a solvent (such as d-limonene). These compositions may also include water or other suitable diluent.
